Job summary

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. in Sibu, Sarawak, is seeking a committed Medical Officer to deliver high-quality primary care in a supportive clinical environment.

You will conduct consultations, diagnose and manage conditions, prescribe medications, and provide health education while maintaining thorough records and adhering to MMC standards. Proficiency in English, Malay and Chinese is preferred, with a strong commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualifications

• Medical degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
• Current MMC registration or eligible for registration with MMC.
• Valid practising certificate and professional indemnity insurance.
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in general practice/primary healthcare.
• Excellent communication and ability to interact with diverse patients.
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and CME.
• Proficiency in English, Malay and Chinese.

Responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient consultations, including taking detailed medical histories and performing physical examinations.
• Diagnosing and treating acute and chronic medical conditions in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices.
• Prescribing medications and monitoring patient responses to treatment.
• Providing health education and preventative advice to promote wellness.
• Managing patient referrals to specialist services when necessary.
• Maintaining accurate and complete medical records for all patients seen.
• Participating in quality assurance and clinical governance activities.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
• Staying current with medical developments and adhering to healthcare regulations and standards.
• Contributing to the smooth operation of the clinic and administrative support as required.

About the role

PMG Healthcare Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Sibu, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality primary healthcare services to our patients. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of patient care, providing clinical expertise, diagnosis, and treatment whilst contributing to the overall mission of improving community health outcomes. Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• A medical degree (MBBS, MD or equivalent) from a recognised institution
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
• A valid practising certificate and professional indemnity insurance
• Strong clinical knowledge and experience in general practice or primary healthcare settings
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Proven ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of patient care
• Sound clinical judgment and problem-solving abilities
• Commitment to professional development and continuing medical education
• Strong ethical standards and adherence to medical codes of conduct
• Proficiency in English, Malay and Chinese language skills
• Previous experience in primary healthcare or general practice is highly desirable
