Job summary

PMG Healthcare SDN. BHD. in Beaufort, Sabah, is seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our healthcare team. This full‑time role focuses on delivering high-quality primary and secondary care, diagnosing, treating and managing a wide range of medical conditions. You will work with a multidisciplinary team, uphold patient safety and maintain accurate records, while supporting public health initiatives and community health education.

Qualifications

• MBBS degree or equivalent recognised by MMC.
• MMC registration currently valid.
• Minimum 2 years' post-graduation clinical experience.
• Strong clinical knowledge and patient care skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations with histories and exams.
• Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate treatments.
• Manage acute and chronic diseases including diabetes and hypertension.
• Develop individualized treatment plans for patients.
• Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care as required.
• Provide preventive health advice and maintain medical records.

About the role

PMG Healthcare SDN. BHD. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Beaufort, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality primary and secondary healthcare services to our patients. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of patient care, working collaboratively with our multidisciplinary team to diagnose, treat and manage a wide range of medical conditions. This role is essential to our mission of providing accessible and effective healthcare services to the Beaufort community.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations
• Diagnose medical conditions and prescribe appropriate medications and treatments
• Manage acute and chronic diseases, including diabetes, hypertension, respiratory conditions and infectious diseases
• Develop and implement individualised treatment and management plans for patients
• Perform minor surgical procedures and wound care management as required
• Provide preventive healthcare advice and health education to patients and the community
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records and documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with nurses, allied health professionals and specialists to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Participate in on-call duties and emergency medical services as scheduled
• Support public health initiatives and disease surveillance programmes
• Contribute to the professional development of junior medical staff through mentoring and training

What we're looking for

• Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree or equivalent medical qualification recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council
• Valid and current registration with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC)
• Minimum of 2 years' post-graduation clinical experience in general practice or hospital medicine
• Strong clinical knowledge and competency in diagnosing and managing common medical conditions
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds
• Proficiency in written and spoken English, Malay and Chinese language
• Ability to work independently whilst maintaining high standards of patient care
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple patients and competing priorities
• Commitment to continuing professional development and keeping abreast of current medical practices
• Willingness to participate in on-call and emergency duties as part of the medical team
