Job summary

POLIKLINIK AMINA in Kuala Krai, Kelantan seeks a Doctor Medical Officer to provide primary medical care in a general practice setting, diagnosing, treating and managing a range of acute and chronic illnesses.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Doctor Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Kuala Krai, Kelantan. In this role, you will provide primary medical care and clinical services to patients across a diverse range of health conditions. As a Medical Officer, you will be at the forefront of patient care, working within a general practice setting to diagnose, treat and manage acute and chronic illnesses. This position is fundamental to delivering quality healthcare services to the local community and ensuring patients receive timely, evidence-based medical interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting comprehensive patient consultations, taking detailed medical histories and performing thorough clinical examinations
• Diagnosing acute and chronic medical conditions using clinical judgement and appropriate diagnostic investigations
• Prescribing medications and developing treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
• Referring patients to specialist services when necessary and providing appropriate follow-up care
• Managing common presenting complaints including respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, hypertension, diabetes and infectious diseases
• Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with regulatory requirements
• Providing health education and preventative health advice to patients
• Liaising with other healthcare professionals and specialist colleagues to ensure coordinated patient care
• Participating in clinical audits and quality improvement initiatives
• Attending continuing professional development and keeping abreast of current medical practice

What we're looking for

• A recognised medical degree (MB BS or equivalent qualification) from an accredited medical school
• Full registration and licensure with the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC) or relevant medical regulatory body
• A minimum of 2 years' post-qualification clinical experience in general practice or primary healthcare settings
• Strong clinical knowledge and competence across a broad range of general medical conditions
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly to patients
• Proficiency in English and Malay, both written and spoken
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Professional commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical medical practice
• Organisational skills with the capacity to manage multiple patient consultations efficiently
• Willingness to engage in continuous learning and professional development
• Experience in managing common chronic conditions and preventative health screening would be advantageous
