Job summary

Jora Malaysia is offering an internship opportunity in hotel maintenance to support the Engineering team with daily maintenance and repair tasks across the property.

You will learn preventive maintenance, basic troubleshooting of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning and mechanical systems, and assist in inspecting guest rooms and public areas while logging findings.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, Engineering, Maintenance or related field.
• Basic knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing or air-conditioning systems.
• Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Hands-on, responsible and willing to learn.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Able to work in a fast-paced hotel environment.
• Willing to work on shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Applicants must be able to complete the required internship period.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Engineering team with daily maintenance and repair works throughout the hotel.
• Assist in preventive maintenance of hotel facilities, equipment and building systems.
• Support basic troubleshooting and maintenance of electrical, plumbing, air-conditioning and mechanical systems.
• Assist with inspection and maintenance of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house areas and other hotel facilities.
• Assist in checking and maintaining air-conditioning units, lighting, water systems, pumps and other equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests and assist in attending to reported defects or breakdowns.
• Assist in carrying out routine inspections and recording maintenance findings.
• Support the team in maintaining proper records of maintenance activities and equipment.
• Assist with contractor and vendor coordination when required.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored after use.
• Follow all hotel safety, health and environmental procedures.
• Ensure maintenance work is carried out according to hotel standards and procedures.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Chief Engineer, Engineering Supervisor or Management.
