Job summary

Taewoong Global Logistics Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on Logistics Operations Executive with a focus on air freight to join our dynamic team in Malaysia. You will manage day-to-day air import shipments, monitor schedules, and coordinate with customs brokers, airlines, and customers to ensure timely delivery.

You will also support other logistics activities as required, maintain accurate shipment records, and respond quickly to operational issues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in Air Import Operations or related logistics field.
• Hands-on experience in air import operations including customs clearance coordination, cargo release, and delivery.
• Good understanding of Malaysia import customs clearance procedures and import documentation.
• Experience coordinating with customs brokers, airlines, freight agents, transporters, and customers.
• Good understanding of air freight documentation and import procedures.
• Able to independently handle and follow up on multiple shipments from pre-arrival through final delivery.
• Good problem-solving skills and ability to respond to urgent or time-sensitive operational issues.
• Strong communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in Excel, Outlook, and basic office applications.

Responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day air import operations from pre-arrival to final delivery.
• Monitor flight schedules, cargo status, and shipment progress.
• Coordinate with customs brokers/forwarding agents for import clearance and documentation.
• Liaise with airlines, air freight agents, ground handling agents, transporters, and customers.
• Arrange transportation and coordinate cargo delivery according to customer requirements.
• Support sea freight, inland transportation, warehouse-related operations when required.
• Follow up on urgent shipments and ensure timely cargo release and delivery.
• Monitor customs clearance status and resolve documentation or operational issues.
• Communicate shipment status and updates to customers and internal teams.
• Maintain shipment records and supporting documents.
• Check operational costs and supporting documents before submission to billing/finance.
• Handle shipment irregularities and escalate when necessary.

Logistics Operations Executive (Air Freight Focus)

We are looking for a hands‑on Air Import Operations Executive to join our Operations Team, with a primary focus on air freight operations.

This position will be responsible for handling day‑to‑day air import shipments, including shipment monitoring, import customs clearance coordination, communication with air freight agents, transportation arrangement, and final delivery to customers.

While the role will primarily focus on air freight operations, the successful candidate will also be expected to support other logistics activities and transportation modes depending on operational and business requirements.

The successful candidate should be able to manage shipments independently, follow up closely with relevant parties, and respond quickly to operational issues to ensure smooth and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle day‑to‑day air import operations from pre‑arrival until final delivery.
• Monitor flight schedules, cargo arrival status, and shipment progress.
• Check and verify shipping documents before customs clearance.
• Coordinate with customs brokers/forwarding agents for import customs clearance and related documentation.
• Liaise with airlines, air freight agents, ground handling agents, transporters, and other service providers.
• Arrange transportation and coordinate cargo delivery according to customer requirements.
• Support sea freight, inland transportation, warehouse‑related operations, and other logistics activities when required.
• Follow up closely on urgent shipments and ensure timely cargo release and delivery.
• Monitor customs clearance status and promptly resolve any documentation or operational issues.
• Communicate shipment status and operational updates to customers and internal teams.
• Ensure all shipment records and supporting documents are properly maintained.
• Check operational costs and supporting documents before submission to the relevant billing/finance team.
• Handle any shipment irregularities, delays, customs issues, or delivery problems and escalates when necessary.
• Perform other logistics and operational duties as reasonably required based on business needs

Requirements

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Air Import Operations, Freight Forwarding, or a related logistics field is preferred.
• Hands‑on experience in air import operations, including customs clearance coordination, cargo release, transportation arrangement, and final delivery.
• Good understanding of Malaysia import customs clearance procedures and import documentation.
• Experience coordinating with customs brokers, airlines, freight agents, transporters, and customers.
• Good understanding of air freight documentation and import procedures.
• Able to independently handle and follow up on multiple shipments from pre‑arrival through final delivery.
• Good problem‑solving skills and ability to respond effectively to urgent or time‑critical operational issues.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other basic office applications.
• Responsible, detail‑oriented, proactive, and able to work under time‑sensitive conditions.
• Flexible and willing to support different logistics functions, transportation modes, and operational assignments based on business requirements.
  

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with the following experience will have an advantage:

• Experience working in a freight forwarding or international logistics company.
• Hands‑on experience with KLIA air cargo import operations.
• Experience handling sea import operations, including coordination with shipping lines, customs brokers, and transporters.
• Candidates who are able to handle both air and sea import shipments will be highly preferred.
• Experience handling urgent or time‑critical shipments.
• Experience coordinating door‑to‑door import shipments from arrival through customs clearance and final delivery.
