Job summary

SPEEDHOME, a Malaysia-based fintech startup, is seeking a Junior Finance Executive to support day-to-day finance operations including rent collections, landlord payouts, refunds, deposits, and contractor payments. You will work closely with the Finance Team to ensure accurate money movement and serve as a friendly point of contact for landlords, tenants, and contractors on finance-related matters.

Job description

We're growing our finance team and looking for a Junior Finance Executive to support day-to-day finance operations across rent collections, landlord payouts, refunds, claims, deposits, and contractor payments. You'll work closely with our Finance Team to keep money movement accurate and traceable — and you'll be a friendly, reliable point of contact for our customers (landlords, tenants, and contractors) on finance-related matters.

This is a hands-on role with room to grow. You'll build strong foundations in reconciliation, month-end close, and finance controls while developing into a well-rounded finance professional. If you enjoy working with both numbers and people, this role is for you.

What You'll Do

• Assist with monthly finance close, reconciliation, and reporting across rent collections, landlord payouts, refunds, claims, deposits, and contractor payments.
• Process invoices, receipts, and payments accurately and on time (accounts receivable and accounts payable).
• Reconcile bank transactions against system records and flag any discrepancies to senior finance team members.
• Liaise with customers — landlords, tenants, and contractors — on payment queries, refund status, deposit matters, invoices, and overdue accounts, responding promptly and professionally by phone, email, and chat.
• Follow up on outstanding collections and keep customers updated with clear, courteous communication.
• Maintain accurate finance records, filing, and documentation, including agreements, receipts, and payment evidence.
• Help maintain AR/AP ageing and basic finance reports for review by the finance team.
• Support the team in preparing documents and schedules for accountants, auditors, and management.
• Follow finance SOPs, approval controls, and reconciliation checklists, and help keep them up to date.
• Escalate exceptions, gaps, or potential errors to senior finance staff so issues are caught before money moves.

What We're Looking For

• Around 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or finance operations (strong fresh graduates with relevant internships may be considered).
• Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Working knowledge of reconciliation, AR/AP, and basic month-end processes.
• Comfortable with Excel / Google Sheets and accounting software.
• Strong communication skills for customer liaison — both written and verbal.
• Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English; Mandarin is a plus.
• Based in Klang Valley.
• Experience in property, fintech, insurance, marketplace, or high-volume transaction businesses is an advantage.
