Responsibilities

• Network & Server Support: maintain LAN and servers, including updates and backups.
• Technical Troubleshooting: handle complex hardware and software issues; provide second-level support.
• IT Projects & Upgrades: assist in implementing infrastructure upgrades and testing deployments.
• User Training & Support: conduct internal training sessions and guide junior staff.
• Data Security & Backup: ensure data security protocols and assist in backup processes.
• Other Duties: undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by Head of IT.

Job description

To provide advanced technical support and maintenance of KYUEM’s IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable network and server operations, assisting in IT projects, and supporting both the IT Executive and Senior Technician in implementing IT policies, upgrades, and user training.

Key Responsibilities

• i. Network & Server Support
  • Assist in maintaining and administering LAN and servers, including updates and backups.
  • Monitor system performance and elevate issues to IT Executive or Senior Technician.
• ii. Technical Troubleshooting
  • Handle complex hardware and software issues beyond standard technician scope.
  • Provide second-level support for escalated user problems.
• iii. IT Projects & Upgrades
  • Support IT Executive and Senior Technician in implementing infrastructure upgrades.
  • Participate in testing and deployment of new systems.
• iv. User Training & Support
  • Conduct internal training sessions for staff and students on IT tools and best practices.
  • Provide guidance to junior technicians.
  • Assist in evaluating hardware/software requirements and managing inventory.
• vi. Data Security & Backup
  • Ensure compliance with data security protocols and assist in backup processes.
  • Liaise with vendors and service providers under guidance from IT Executive.
• viii. Other Duties
  • Undertake any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of IT.
