Job summary

Kolej Yayasan UEM (KYUEM) is a fully residential A-Level college in Lembah Beringin, Selangor, Malaysia. We seek a Head of Student Services to provide strategic leadership across admissions, records, welfare, safeguarding and residential life, ensuring an exceptional student experience and compliance with regulatory requirements.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, implement departmental plans and manage budgets, while coordinating accreditation with authorities such as MQA, MOHE and MyQuest

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the Student Services Department to deliver high-quality student support services.
• Lead and develop the Student Services team, including the Assistant Manager, Wardens, Matrons, Sports Executive and other departmental staff.
• Develop and implement departmental plans, objectives, KPIs and initiatives aligned with the College's strategic priorities.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources, policies and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.
• Establish and review departmental SOPs and service standards to enhance the student experience and operational efficiency.
• Oversee admissions administration, student registration, enrolment, induction and orientation processes.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of student records, databases and related documentation.
• Provide strategic oversight of student welfare, wellbeing, safeguarding, residential life and support services.
• Oversee student leadership bodies, clubs and societies, sports, co-curricular activities and student engagement programmes.
• Lead and coordinate matters relating to accreditation, audits and regulatory compliance, including MQA, MOHE, MyQuest and other relevant authorities.

Job description

The Head of Student Services is responsible for providing strategic leadership, direction and oversight of the Student Services Department. The role oversees student admissions and enrolment administration, student records management, residential life, student welfare and wellbeing, pastoral care, student discipline, student engagement and development programmes. Working closely with the University Relations Department, Academic Office and other stakeholders, the role supports scholarship and alumni-related initiatives while ensuring an exceptional student experience and compliance with institutional and regulatory requirements.

Key responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Student Services Department to ensure the delivery of high-quality student support services.

Lead, develop and manage the performance of the Student Services team, including the Assistant Manager, Wardens, Matrons, Sports Executive and other departmental staff.

Develop and implement departmental plans, objectives, KPIs and initiatives aligned with the College's strategic priorities.

Manage departmental budgets, resources, policies and procedures to ensure operational effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Establish and review departmental SOPs and service standards to enhance the student experience and operational efficiency.

Oversee admissions administration, student registration, enrolment, induction and orientation processes.
