Job summary

Grand Venture Technology is seeking an IT professional to manage virtual environments (VMware/Hyper-V) and optimize virtual infrastructure for high availability in a Malaysia-based operation. The role includes hardware/software setup, LAN/WAN management, and assisting deployment of new technologies.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of IT experience, strong Windows skills, Fortinet firewall knowledge, and familiarity with ERP support; strong troubleshooting and multitasking abilities are

Qualifications

• Requires Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/IT or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of IT experience in a corporate environment.
• Knowledge of Windows platform and Fortinet firewall.
• Ability to convey technical concepts clearly to users and colleagues.
• Experience with ERP support is a plus.

Job description

Manage virtual environments using VMware, Hyper‑V, or other virtualization platforms.

Optimize and troubleshoot virtual infrastructure to ensure high availability and performance.

Provide troubleshooting assistance for hardware, software, and network issues. Respond to help desk requests and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.

Perform regular updates and backups of the software used in house to ensure system integrity.

Set up and configure new hardware and software. Assist in the deployment of new technologies as needed.

Assist in the management of local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). Ensure network security and performance optimization.

Cloud and network experience with M365, Azure, Exchange Online, and understanding of TCP/IP, routing, and switching.

Support IT software implementations, and technology upgrades.

Job Requirements:

Candidate must possess at least a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 yearsrelevant experience in an IT environment preferably with good knowledge of Microsoft Windows platform.

Knowledge or experienced in Firewall solutions such as Fortinet.

Ability to clearly and concisely transfer technical and business knowledge to knowledge base, colleagues and end-users.

Experience in ERP support will be added advantageously.

Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Good time management, punctuality, positive attitude, high quality self-management with minimum supervision.

Skilled in multi-tasking, able to prioritizes tasks, and strong adaptability to changes.
