Job Summary

The IT Engineer is responsible for managing and maintaining the company's IT infrastructure, including data centre facilities, network systems, servers, computer hardware, software, and enterprise information systems. The role involves providing technical support, ensuring system stability and network security, managing IT assets, and resolving IT-related issues to support daily business and manufacturing operations. The position also requires close coordination with China-based IT teams and relevant stakeholders to ensure effective IT operations and system integration.

Key Responsibilities

A. Data Centre Setup & Maintenance

• 1. Assist in the planning, setup, upgrading, and improvement of the company's data centre, including layout design, equipment selection, and cabling installation.
• 2. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of data centre infrastructure, including UPS, precision air-conditioning systems, fire protection systems, monitoring systems, and grounding systems.
• 3. Handle the installation, configuration, and management of servers, storage devices, and other data centre hardware.
• 4. Conduct regular hardware inspections, monitor system performance, and perform necessary maintenance to ensure stable operations.
• 5. Develop and implement data backup strategies, conduct regular backup and recovery testing, and ensure data security and recoverability.
• 6. Maintain proper documentation of data centre equipment, configurations, maintenance activities, and related records.

B. Network Infrastructure Management

• 1. Assist in planning, implementing, maintaining, and optimising the company's network infrastructure, including Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Virtual Private Network (VPN).
• 2. Manage and maintain network equipment, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• 3. Perform network configuration, firmware upgrades, security patching, and troubleshooting to ensure stable and secure network connectivity.
• 4. Monitor network performance, identify potential network issues, and implement appropriate solutions to minimise network downtime.
• 5. Implement network security measures, including access control, traffic monitoring, virus protection, and intrusion detection.
• 6. Manage network cabling, port allocation, and network resources, and maintain updated network topology diagrams and equipment records.

C. IT Support & Desktop Operations

• 1. Provide daily IT technical support to employees, including troubleshooting computer hardware, software, printing systems, printers, scanners, projectors, and other office equipment, including maintenance guidance and troubleshooting.
• 2. Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain operating systems, office applications, and other business-related software.
• 3. Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues to minimise disruptions to daily operations.
• 4. Manage employee IT accounts, including account creation, access permissions, password resets, and user access control.
• 5. Assist in the selection, procurement, installation, distribution, and disposal of IT equipment.
• 6. Maintain an accurate IT asset inventory and conduct regular equipment inspections and stock checks.
• 7. Provide technical guidance and user support to employees on IT systems, applications, and equipment.

D. IT Systems Operations & Maintenance

• 1. Perform daily operations and maintenance of the company's enterprise information systems, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Warehouse Management System (WMS).
• 2. Monitor system performance, troubleshoot system errors, and coordinate issue resolution to ensure stable and reliable system operations.
• 3. Provide technical support, user training, and system usage guidance to employees across different departments.
• 4. Work closely with relevant departments and system development teams to identify system issues, gather user requirements, and support system enhancements and upgrades.
• 5. Assist in system configuration, user access management, data backup, and data security activities.
• 6. Maintain system documentation, including user manuals, system operation guides, maintenance logs, and troubleshooting records.
• 7. Manage and maintain production equipment programs centrally, including offline programming management, to ensure proper program control, consistency, and version management across production equipment.
• 8. Conduct Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) data analysis, monitor equipment performance, identify improvement opportunities, and support the implementation of improvement initiatives.

E. IT Security & Data Management

• 1. Implement and maintain IT security measures to protect company networks, systems, and information assets against potential security threats.
• 2. Monitor and manage user access permissions to ensure appropriate access to company systems and data.
• 3. Perform regular system updates, security patching, and antivirus maintenance to minimise security vulnerabilities.
• 4. Ensure regular data backup and recovery procedures are properly implemented and maintained.
• 5. Monitor and respond to IT security incidents, system abnormalities, and potential data security risks.
• 6. Ensure compliance with company IT policies, information security requirements, and data confidentiality standards.

F. IT Reporting & Documentation

• 1. Prepare IT-related reports, maintenance records, and system performance reports as required.
• 2. Maintain accurate records of IT assets, network equipment, system configurations, software licenses, and maintenance activities.
• 3. Document IT incidents, troubleshooting procedures, system issues, and corrective actions taken.
• 4. Monitor recurring IT issues and recommend appropriate improvements to enhance system reliability and operational efficiency.
• 5. Report major IT incidents, system abnormalities, and potential security risks to the immediate superior promptly.
• 6. Ensure IT-related documents, records, and technical information are properly maintained and updated.

G. Cross-Functional Coordination & Team Support

• 1. Work closely with Production, Engineering, Quality, Warehouse, Administration, and other relevant departments to understand and support their IT requirements.
• 2. Coordinate with China-based IT teams and relevant stakeholders on IT infrastructure, system issues, technical support, system upgrades, and implementation projects.
• 3. Assist in IT system implementation, testing, upgrading, and integration projects as required.
• 4. Provide technical guidance and IT-related training to employees to improve system usage and awareness of information security.
• 5. Participate in IT improvement initiatives and recommend solutions to enhance IT infrastructure, system performance, and operational efficiency.
• 6. Attend IT-related meetings and coordinate with internal and external parties, including IT vendors and service providers, when necessary.
• 7. Perform other related duties as assigned by the immediate superior or management.

Job Requirements

A. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field.
• Candidates with relevant professional IT certifications (e.g., CCNA, CompTIA Network+, Microsoft, Linux, or other relevant certifications) are preferred.

B. Working Experience

• 1–3 years of relevant experience in IT infrastructure, IT support, or IT operations and maintenance.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
• Hands-on experience in data centre operations, server maintenance, network infrastructure, and desktop support is an advantage.
• Experience in enterprise systems such as ERP, MES, or WMS is an advantage.

C. Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Good understanding of IT infrastructure, including servers, storage systems, network devices, and data centre facilities.
• Familiarity with network technologies and protocols, including TCP/IP, LAN, WAN, VPN, switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Proficiency in Windows and Linux operating systems, including installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of server administration, data backup and recovery, system monitoring, and IT security management.
• Familiarity with data centre infrastructure, including UPS, precision air-conditioning systems, fire protection systems, and monitoring systems.
• Experience in troubleshooting and maintaining computers, printers, office equipment, and other IT-related hardware and software.
• Familiarity with enterprise information systems such as ERP, MES, and WMS is an advantage.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge of IT security practices, access control, system administration, and data protection.
• Good documentation skills, including maintaining IT asset records, system configurations, maintenance logs, and technical documentation.
