Ferrotec Thermoelectric Technology (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd is seeking an Equipment Maintenance Engineer to maintain production equipment, troubleshoot issues, and support installation and upgrades in the Pasir Gudang facility.

The role requires 1+ year of maintenance experience, strong electrical/PLC skills, and familiarity with CAD tools. Added advantage for certifications and PLC programming abilities. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Mechatronics Engineering or related disciplines.
• At least 1 year of working experience in factory production equipment maintenance.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, PLC systems and automation equipment maintenance.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance and preventive maintenance.
• ST Wireman or Chargeman certification is an added advantage.
• Experience in PLC programming, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in automated production lines and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings and CAD software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment.
• Respond to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance, including inspection and replacement of components.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
• Participate in installation, commissioning, and acceptance of new/modified equipment.
• Manage spare parts and maintenance records.

Job Summary

The Equipment Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment to ensure stable and efficient manufacturing operations. The role involves carrying out preventive maintenance, identifying and resolving equipment issues, supporting equipment installation and improvement projects, and managing equipment spare parts and maintenance records.

Key Responsibilities

A. Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting

Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment to ensure proper operation.

Respond to equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to minimise equipment downtime.

Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance, including inspection, repair, and replacement of equipment components.

Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce unexpected breakdowns.

Participate in the installation, assembly, commissioning, and acceptance of new equipment and modified equipment.

Participate in equipment modification, technical improvement, and upgrading projects to enhance equipment efficiency and operational stability.

C. Spare Parts & Documentation

Manage equipment spare parts and consumables, including inventory monitoring and usage records.

Assist in developing and maintaining equipment operating procedures, daily inspection checklists, and preventive maintenance records.

Job Requirements

A. Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or related disciplines.

B. Working Experience

• At least 1 year of working experience in factory production equipment maintenance.

C. Technical Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, PLC systems and automation equipment maintenance.
• Experience in mechanical maintenance, equipment troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

Added Advantage

• Possess ST Wireman or Chargeman certification.
• Experience in PLC programming, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Experience in automated production lines and industrial equipment.
• Knowledge of electrical drawings and experience in using CAD software.

D. Language Requirements
