FERROTEC POWER SEMICONDUCTOR MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Production Team Leader for our Pasir Gudang, Johor facility to drive production schedules and quality in a high-precision semiconductor plant.

You will lead production teams, ensure safety and process adherence, and collaborate with maintenance, QA, and planning to optimise output while maintaining quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven team leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
• Able to motivate and manage a diverse team of production operators.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Problem-solving mindset with quick corrective actions.
• Experience with manufacturing systems and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production team activities, ensuring safety and procedures.
• Monitor production targets and schedules, implementing corrective actions.
• Conduct regular quality checks to meet specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Provide coaching and performance feedback for team development.
• Identify and resolve production bottlenecks and inefficiencies promptly.
• Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate with maintenance, QA and planning to align operations.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts.
• Assist induction and onboarding of new team members.

About the role

FERROTEC POWER SEMICONDUCTOR MALAYSIA SDN. BHD. is seeking a Production Team Leader to join our manufacturing operation in Pasir Gudang, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in driving operational excellence and ensuring the successful execution of production schedules within our semiconductor manufacturing facility.

As Production Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading and supervising production teams, maintaining quality standards, and optimising production processes. This role is integral to our commitment to delivering high-quality power semiconductor products and maintaining our competitive position in the industry.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage daily production team activities, ensuring all team members adhere to safety protocols and operational procedures
• Monitor production targets and schedules, implementing corrective actions to meet or exceed performance goals
• Conduct regular quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and regulatory requirements
• Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback to team members to support their professional development
• Identify and resolve production issues, bottlenecks and inefficiencies in a timely manner
• Maintain accurate production records, reports and documentation as required
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) standards across the production floor
• Communicate effectively with other departments including maintenance, quality assurance and planning to coordinate operations
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to lean manufacturing efforts
• Support the induction and onboarding of new team members

What we're looking for

• Proven team leadership experience in a manufacturing or production environment, preferably in semiconductor or electronics manufacturing
• Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control procedures and safety standards relevant to manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to motivate, develop and manage a diverse team of production operators
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively at all organisational levels
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues and implement practical solutions quickly
• Proficiency in using manufacturing systems and computer applications for production tracking and reporting
• Certification or relevant qualifications in production management, lean manufacturing or equivalent industry training is highly desirable
• Working knowledge of quality management systems such as ISO 9001 or similar standards
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are advantageous
• Physical capability to work in a manufacturing environment and willingness to work on shift patterns as required
