Job summary

Sunway Medical Centre Penang is seeking an experienced international patient services coordinator to greet, assist and coordinate care for inbound patients. You will respond to inquiries, arrange transport and lodging, manage registrations, and liaise with partners, insurers, and clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient journey.

The role requires excellent multilingual communication, cultural sensitivity, and teamwork to support patients from diverse backgrounds throughout their healthcare

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
• Minimum of one year of experience in international patient services or related healthcare environment.
• Proficient in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Melayu; additional languages a plus.
• Service-oriented, empathetic and culturally sensitive with strong communication skills.
• Able to interact with patients and families from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary liaison for international patients across care continuum.
• Respond promptly to enquiries via WhatsApp, email, phone, and walk-ins.
• Greet international patients and direct to appropriate centres or clinics.
• Coordinate patient appointments, admissions, and related services.
• Arrange airport transfers, hotels, visas, and accommodation.
• Maintain accurate records of enquiries, referrals and registrations.
• Coordinate visa extensions with authorities.
• Assist with medical evacuation and repatriation requests.
• Build relationships with referral partners to support international patient services.
