Job summary

Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns is seeking a Human Resources Manager at our Kuantan property to lead all HR functions on a full-time basis. You will develop HR strategies, manage talent acquisition, payroll, and employee relations while ensuring regulatory compliance and a positive workplace culture.

The role reports to senior management and drives organisational development initiatives to support our hospitality operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of HR experience with at least 2 years in a managerial role within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of Malaysian employment law and workplace regulations.
• Experience in recruitment, selection, and talent acquisition best practices.
• Experience with payroll, benefits, and compensation planning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the role
We are seeking a Human Resources Manager to join our team at our Kuantan Pahang property on a full-time basis. This is a strategic HR leadership position responsible for overseeing all human resources functions within the hotel. As Human Resources Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing HR strategies that support our business objectives, foster a positive workplace culture, and ensure compliance with employment legislation. You will report directly to senior management and have direct responsibility for managing HR operations, talent acquisition, employee relations, and organisational development initiatives that contribute to the success of our hospitality operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies and policies aligned with Swiss-Garden International Hotels' objectives and Malaysian employment regulations
• Lead recruitment and selection processes, including job profiling, advertising, candidate screening, interviewing, and onboarding of new staff members across all departments
• Manage employee relations, including performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievance handling, and termination processes in accordance with employment law
• Oversee payroll administration, benefits management, and compensation planning to ensure competitive remuneration packages and statutory compliance
• Design and deliver training and development programmes to enhance staff skills, improve performance, and support career progression pathways
• Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and documentation, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements
• Conduct workforce planning and analysis to identify staffing requirements and support business expansion or restructuring initiatives
• Foster a positive workplace culture by organising employee engagement activities, wellness programmes, and recognition initiatives
• Advise management on employment matters, employment contracts, and best practices in human resources management
• Ensure compliance with Malaysian employment legislation, including the Employment Act, Industrial Relations Act, and other relevant regulations
• Manage employee relations during organisational changes and support management with change management communication strategies

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of professional HR experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity within hospitality, hotel, or similar service industry environment
• Comprehensive knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation, labour laws, and workplace regulations
• Strong proficiency in recruitment, selection, and talent acquisition best practices
• Demonstrated experience in employee relations management and handling disciplinary and grievance matters
• Experience with payroll management, benefits administration, and compensation planning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organisation
• Proficiency in HR management systems and Microsoft Office applications
• Strong organisational and time management abilities with capacity to manage multiple priorities
• Sound understanding of training and development programme design and delivery
• Preferred: Professional HR certification such as CHRP, CIPD, or equivalent recognised qualification
• Preferred: Previous experience in a hotel, resort, or luxury hospitality setting
