About the role

Swiss-Garden International Hotels, Resorts & Inns is seeking an experienced and dynamic Banquet Manager or Banquet Assistant Manager to join our team at our Kuantan property in Pahang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional banqueting and event experiences for our guests. As a key member of our hospitality leadership team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all banquet and special events held at the resort. This role is essential to our mission of providing world-class hospitality and unforgettable experiences, whilst maintaining the highest standards of service excellence and operational efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and execute banquet events and special functions, ensuring all details are meticulously managed from conception to completion
• Liaise with clients and event coordinators to understand their requirements, provide quotations, and ensure their expectations are consistently exceeded
• Oversee the setup, decoration, and breakdown of banquet spaces to ensure aesthetic appeal and functional efficiency
• Manage banquet staffing schedules, training, and supervision to maintain service standards and guest satisfaction
• Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and service delivery during events in collaboration with the kitchen and culinary teams
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations across all banquet operations
• Handle budget management, cost control, and revenue optimisation for banqueting services
• Maintain detailed event documentation and records for future reference and continuous improvement
• Respond promptly to guest concerns and resolve issues to maintain positive relationships and repeat business
• Collaborate with other departments including front office, housekeeping, and kitchen to ensure seamless event execution
• Monitor inventory levels for banquet supplies and equipment, placing orders as necessary
• Contribute to the development and implementation of banqueting packages and promotional offers

What we’re looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in banquet management or event coordination within a hotel, resort, or similar hospitality establishment
• Strong understanding of banquet operations, event planning, and food and beverage service standards
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, staff, and internal departments
• Proven ability to manage multiple events simultaneously whilst maintaining attention to detail
• Leadership and team management capabilities with experience in training and supervising staff
• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of health, safety, and hygiene regulations relevant to food service and events
• Proficiency in banquet management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Fluency in English; additional language skills are advantageous
• Flexibility to work evening and weekend shifts as required for event schedules
• A passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and a customer-centric approach
• Relevant qualifications in hospitality management, event planning, or related fields would be beneficial
