Support the setup and growth of EAM Malaysia through hands‑on HR operations, recruitment and practical process building. Work independently with direction from the General Manager.
What a typical day looks like:-
- Develop and maintain HR policies, SOPs, employee guidelines and the handbook; keep practices aligned with Malaysian employment requirements.
- Prepare contracts, letters, personnel files and records; alert management to relevant regulatory changes.
Recruitment & Onboarding
- Partner with the GM and hiring managers on manpower needs; manage sourcing, screening, interviews, references, offers and probation follow‑up.
- Build pipelines for engineering, project, commercial and BD roles; support salary benchmarking and offer discussions.
- Lead and comply with ESD Requirement for Expatriate Recruitment and Onboarding to Malaysia.
- Coordinate and check monthly payroll, leave, allowances and benefits; liaise with external payroll and accounting providers.
- Handle or coordinate EPF, SOCSO, EIS and PCB submissions and maintain accurate employee data.
Employee Relations & Development
- Respond to employee HR questions and support grievances, disciplinary matters and performance issues with appropriate documentation.
- Run probation and appraisal processes; coordinate KPIs, training activities and competency records.
HR Operations
- Manage onboarding, offboarding, attendance, leave, HR reports and HRIS/payroll administration.
- Coordinate insurance and benefits, and support Employment Pass, ESD and expatriate matters when needed.
The experience we’re looking to add to our team:
- Diploma or degree in HR, business or a related field; about 3 years of broad, hands‑on HR experience.
- Practical knowledge of Malaysian employment practices, payroll/statutory processes, end-to-end recruitment, policies and employee relations.
- Able to organize work independently in a lean team; strong written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia.
- Startup/SME or new‑operation experience; engineering, construction, M&E or project‑based hiring exposure.
- HRIS implementation.
- Mandarin for regional communication is a plus.
