Job summary

AEM Microtronics in Penang, Malaysia seeks an experienced HR Generalist to lead employee relations, advise on industrial relations, and coordinate training programs. You will partner with managers on manpower needs, support recruitment and onboarding, and maintain confidential HR records with adherence to Malaysian employment law.

The role requires 4–6 years of HR generalist experience, a degree in HR/IR, and the ability to work independently while guiding junior staff.

Qualifications

• Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, Management or related discipline.
• 4–6 years of HR generalist experience with exposure to employee relations, industrial relations and training.
• Sound knowledge of Malaysian employment legislation and disciplinary/grievance handling.
• Able to work independently, handle sensitive cases professionally and guide junior HR team members.
• Experience maintaining confidential HR records and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and advise on employee relations and industrial relations matters, including grievances, disciplinary cases, misconduct investigations and performance-related issues.
• Ensure HR practices and case handling align with company policies and applicable Malaysian employment requirements.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor internal and external training activities, including training needs, schedules, attendance, records, effectiveness and follow-up actions.
• Partner with department managers on manpower matters, employee concerns, workforce engagement and preventive HR interventions.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and workforce integration for new projects and increased departmental headcount as required.
• Prepare HR reports, case summaries, training records and management updates, and maintain complete and confidential documentation.
• Coach junior HR team members and provide practical guidance on ER, IR and training administration.
• Undertake other HR projects and responsibilities assigned by the HR Manager.
