Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an HR Executive to join our Kuala Lumpur team. This broad role covers recruitment, onboarding, payroll, statutory compliance, and labor-law coordination in a fast-paced, multicultural environment.

You will manage talent acquisition alongside core HR operations, liaising with external legal counsel as needed and ensuring timely HR reporting. Local labour regulations familiarity is essential, with Mandarin and English proficiency required.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field.
• 1–2 years of HR or recruitment experience.
• Fresh graduates with internship exposure in HR are welcome to apply.
• Hands on payroll processing and statutory compliance experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment from sourcing to onboarding.
• Source candidates through portals, LinkedIn, referrals and other channels.
• Conduct initial screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers.
• Handle payroll processing, statutory contributions and reporting.
• Coordinate with external legal counsel on contracts, compliance and labour law.
• Manage employee records, leave administration and HR filing.
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes end to end.
• Assist with work permit and foreign worker documentation where applicable.
• Ensure HR practices comply with local labour regulations.
• Provide regular updates on hiring progress and HR matters to stakeholders.

We are looking for an HR Executive to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. This is a broad, hands on role covering the full range of HR functions, from recruitment and onboarding through to payroll, legal coordination and compliance. You will be expected to manage talent acquisition alongside core HR operations, not just one or the other. This role suits someone who is comfortable wearing multiple hats in a fast moving, multicultural environment.

Key responsibilities

• Source candidates through job portals, LinkedIn, referrals and other channels
• Conduct initial screenings and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
• Handle payroll processing, statutory contributions and related reporting
• Coordinate with external legal counsel on employment contracts, compliance and labour law matters
• Manage employee records, documentation, leave administration and HR filing
• Support onboarding and offboarding processes end to end
• Assist with work permit and foreign worker documentation where applicable
• Ensure HR practices remain compliant with local labour regulations
• Provide regular updates on hiring progress, headcount and HR matters to stakeholders

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Human Resources, Business or a related field
• 1 to 2 years of experience in an HR or recruitment role
• Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English (spoken and written) — required, as this role supports our China/Greater China market clients.
• Fresh graduates with internship exposure in HR are welcome to apply
• Hands on experience with payroll processing and statutory compliance
• Comfortable coordinating with lawyers and external legal counsel on HR matters
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Good written and spoken English and Mandarin
• Based in the Kuala Lumpur area
• Experience with HRIS, payroll systems or applicant tracking tools (preferred)
• Familiarity with Malaysian employment law and statutory requirements (EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB) (preferred)
