Job summary

Smells Good Holdings Sdn Bhd in Kuala Lumpur is seeking a hands-on HR Executive to support recruitment, onboarding and payroll for frontline staff. You will maintain employee records, ensure compliance with local employment laws, and act as the main HR point of contact on the ground, partnering with team leads to resolve workforce matters.

The role requires a diploma or degree in HR or related field, 1-2 years HR experience, and a willingness to be hands-on and on the ground.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.
• 1-2 years of HR experience, preferably including recruitment and payroll.
• Experience hiring or managing frontline employees (retail, promoters, sales, live hosts) is a plus.
• Good understanding of Malaysian employment practices and statutory requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Recruitment & onboarding: manage the full recruitment process and onboarding documents.
• Payroll & Attendance: assist monthly payroll and attendance-related matters.
• HR Operations & Compliance: maintain HR processes and records, support statutory submissions.
• Frontline & On-Ground HR Support: be the main HR contact for employees and engage with frontline staff.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding

• Manage the whole recruitment process.


• Prepare offer letters and required onboarding documents.


• Conduct onboarding and ensure new hires understand company policies and expectations.


• Maintain accurate employee records and recruitment updates.

Payroll & Attendance

• Assist in monthly payroll preparation for assigned employees.


• Manage attendance, leave, overtime, allowances, commissions and other payroll-related matters.


• Check attendance and payroll information to ensure accuracy before payroll submission.


• Maintain proper payroll and employee records.

HR Operations & Compliance

• Ensure HR processes and employee records are maintained in line with company policies and applicable employment requirements.


• Assist with statutory matters and other relevant submissions.


• Support the implementation and communication of HR policies and procedures.

Frontline & On-Ground HR Support

• Be the main HR point of contact for employees.


• Regularly engage with frontline employees and understand their day-to-day needs and concerns.


• Support attendance, discipline, performance and employee issues.


• Work closely with team leads and managers to resolve employee matters and maintain good team operations.


• Be present on the ground when required.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field.


• 1-2 years of experience in HR, preferably with experience in recruitment and payroll.
