Job summary

Private Advertiser in Sabah is seeking an experienced General Manager to oversee the hotel's daily operations, ensuring exceptional guest service and efficient performance across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Engineering, Security and Administration. The role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and a hands-on approach to drive operational excellence.

You will lead, motivate, and develop department heads and hotel staff, manage recruitment and training, monitor budgets and costs,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5–8 years' experience in hotel operations.
• 3–5 years in a managerial/leadership position.
• Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest service, budgeting and cost control.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Engineering, Security, and Administration.
• Ensure high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, and operational efficiency.
• Handle VIP guests, special requests, complaints, and service recovery.
• Lead, motivate, and develop department heads and hotel employees.
• Support recruitment, training, performance management, and staff discipline.
• Monitor revenue, expenses, budgets, and departmental costs.
• Support Sales & Marketing activities, promotions, events, and revenue growth.
• Maintain good relationships with clients, business partners, and stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, labour laws, licensing, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee emergency, security, risk management, audits, and corrective actions.
• Prepare operational reports and communicate hotel performance and issues to the General Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.
