Job summary

Upscale Sdn Bhd in Alor Setar, Kedah, seeks a General Manager to lead a hotel’s operations, finance, and guest experiences. You will oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Sales, and Maintenance while driving service excellence and profitability.

The role requires 8–12 years in hotel operations with 3–5 years in a management role, strong leadership, and a proven track record in financial performance and staff development. A degree or diploma in Hospitality or related field is preferred.

Qualifications

• Degree/Diploma in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration or related field.
• 8–12 years experience in hotel operations, with 3–5 years in a Manager or General Manager role.
• Strong leadership, communication, and people management skills.
• Experience managing a hotel in Malaysia.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily hotel operations across Front Office, Housekeeping, F&B, Sales & Marketing, and Maintenance.
• Manage the hotel's P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
• Drive revenue growth through rooms, F&B, events, and partnerships.
• Ensure superior guest satisfaction and promptly handle complex guest issues.
• Lead, coach and develop department heads and hotel staff.
• Ensure compliance with local regulations, licensing requirements, and safety standards.
