Job summary

Carewell Clinic in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur, seeks a dedicated GP Clinic Assistant to support daily clinic operations and patient care. You will greet patients, manage registrations, schedule appointments, handle payments, and assist with basic clinical tasks under supervision.

The ideal candidate has at least 1–2 years in a healthcare setting, strong communication, and computer literacy. Fluency in English and Malay is preferred, with a commitment to confidentiality and teamwork.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate GP Clinic Assistant to join our healthcare team at Carewell Clinic in Sentul, Kuala Lumpur. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in supporting the smooth operation of our general practice clinic. As a GP Clinic Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for patients and will work closely with our medical practitioners to ensure exceptional patient care and efficient clinic operations. Your contribution will directly impact the patient experience and the overall effectiveness of our healthcare services.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients upon arrival and ensuring a welcoming clinic environment
• Managing patient registration, appointment scheduling and administrative records
• Answering telephone enquiries and responding to patient communications professionally and courteously
• Assisting with basic clinical support tasks under the supervision of medical staff, such as taking patient vital signs and preparing examination rooms
• Maintaining confidentiality and ensuring compliance with patient data protection protocols
• Processing patient payments and managing clinic billing procedures
• Restocking medical supplies and maintaining clinic cleanliness and organisation
• Supporting general administrative duties to ensure smooth daily clinic operations
• Assisting healthcare practitioners with patient care coordination and follow-up communications

What we're looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification (O-Level or SPM minimum)
• Proven experience working in a healthcare environment, medical clinic or hospital setting (minimum 1–2 years preferred)
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with diverse patients
• Strong organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with clinic management systems
• Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to healthcare regulations
• Reliable, punctual and committed to delivering high-quality patient service
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous
• Fluency in English and Malay; additional languages are a plus
• First aid or health and safety certification is desirable but not essential
