Clinic Assistant, Nurse, Assistant Medical Officer

About the rolePelita Clinic is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinic Assistant, Nurse, Assistant Medical Officer to join our healthcare team in Miri, Sarawak. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and supporting the smooth operation of our general practice clinic. You will work alongside our medical professionals to ensure patients receive excellent service whilst maintaining the highest standards of clinical practice and patient safety.

What you'll be doing

Greeting and welcoming patients upon arrival, and managing patient check-in procedures

Assisting doctors and senior medical staff during patient consultations and minor clinical procedures

Preparing examination rooms and ensuring they are clean, well-stocked and ready for patient consultations

Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations

Sterilising and managing medical instruments and equipment

Answering telephone enquiries and scheduling patient appointments

Assisting with basic administrative duties including filing, data entry and organisation of clinic resources

Adhering to infection control protocols and maintaining a clean, safe clinical environment

What we're looking for

Good attitude, friendly, punctual and polite

Relevant qualification as a Nurse, Medical Assistant or Assistant Medical Officer, or equivalent healthcare qualification recognised in Malaysia

Current registration with the appropriate professional regulatory body where required

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, families and colleagues

Compassionate and patient-centred approach to healthcare delivery

Ability to work efficiently in a busy clinic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Attention to detail and commitment to accurate record-keeping and documentation

Knowledge of infection control procedures and commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and safety

Proficiency in using computers and willingness to learn clinic management systems

Fluency in English and Malay is desirable; knowledge of local dialects is an advantage especially Chinese
