Job summary

Fairmont Industries Sdn Bhd is seeking an HR Assistant to take full ownership of managing our foreign workforce, covering both in-house and contract workers. You will support HR and Operations, handling recruitment, onboarding, payroll, and compliance.

The role requires hands-on experience with foreign workers, strong communication, and the ability to work in a manufacturing environment. Own transport and willingness to travel are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in managing or handling foreign workers.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with HR and operations teams.
• Willing to travel and possess own transport.
• Valid driving license and ability to drive a van is an added advantage.
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end recruitment of foreign workers, from sourcing to repatriation.
• Coordinate with recruitment agents to ensure timely, compliant sourcing.
• Maintain validity of permits, passports and immigration docs, renewals ahead of expiry.
• Maintain attendance and manpower records for all foreign workers.
• Process monthly payroll for in-house foreign workers, including attendance, overtime, allowances and deductions.
• Ensure compliance with labour and immigration requirements.
• Arrange accommodation, transport and meals for foreign workers.
• Act as first contact for foreign worker welfare and medical cases.
• Conduct hostel audits to meet cleanliness, hygiene and safety standards.
• Plan transportation for work, medical appointments and official matters.
• Address grievances and provide counselling.
• Adhere to company foreign worker policies and SOPs.
• Undertake other ad hoc duties as required.
