Jipal Hi-Tech Pte. Ltd. in Penang is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our engineering team. This full-time role installs, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs equipment at customer sites to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

You will be the primary technical interface for clients, handling on-site installations, preventive maintenance, and timely service reports, while traveling to locations as needed and upholding safety standards.

About the role Jipal Hi-Tech Pte. Ltd. is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join our engineering team in Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional technical support and maintenance services to our clients. As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment at customer sites, ensuring optimal performance and customer satisfaction. This role is essential to our operations, as you will be the primary technical representative interfacing directly with our valued clients, ensuring their systems operate reliably and efficiently.

Key responsibilities

• Install, commission, and configure equipment and systems at customer sites in accordance with technical specifications and safety standards
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to ensure equipment operates at peak performance
• Diagnose and troubleshoot technical faults and system malfunctions, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions
• Repair or replace faulty components, parts, and equipment as required
• Provide technical support and training to customers on the correct operation and maintenance of equipment
• Document all service activities, maintenance performed, and customer interactions in detailed service reports
• Respond promptly to service calls and emergency requests from customers, prioritising urgent issues
• Maintain accurate records of spare parts inventory and communicate stock requirements to management
• Collaborate with the engineering team to communicate customer feedback and identify areas for product improvement
• Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations whilst on customer sites

What we’re looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field
• Proven experience as a Field Service Engineer, Field Technician, or similar technical support role within the engineering or technology sector
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical problems efficiently
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly to non-technical customers
• Physical fitness and willingness to work in various environments, including industrial sites and customer facilities
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations as required
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations in industrial or technical environments
• Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
• Preferred: Experience with specific equipment or systems relevant to our product lines; certification in relevant technical areas
