Job summary

SKYLINE CATERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Facilities Technician (Food and Beverage) to maintain and repair essential equipment and infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. The role requires prompt responses to maintenance requests and strong problem-solving skills.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot appliances, and coordinate with vendors for major repairs. Fluency in Mandarin is required for direct communication with Chinese-speaking staff and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance – Inspect and maintain facilities including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC units.
• Equipment Repairs – Troubleshoot and repair ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers and related appliances.
• Preventive Maintenance – Implement scheduled programs to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Safety & Compliance – Ensure activities meet local health, safety and fire regulations.
• Plumbing & Electrical Work – Address leaks, clogs, lighting and power issues.
• Structural Repairs – Maintain flooring, walls, ceilings, doors and furniture.
• Emergency Response – Respond to outages or equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Inventory & Supplies Management – Manage tools and parts, coordinate major repairs or procurement.
• Facility Support – Assist with ad hoc tasks like installing posters and signage.
• Collaboration – Work with management and staff to address needs efficiently; ad hoc duties as required.

Facilities Technician (Food and Beverage)

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all essential company equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations. The role requires technical expertise in electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, as well as the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance – Perform routine inspections and maintenance of company facilities, including electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC units.

Equipment Repairs – Troubleshoot, repair and maintain company equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers and other essential appliances, either independently or through contractors.

Preventive Maintenance – Implement a scheduled maintenance program to minimize breakdowns, improve efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.

Safety & Compliance – Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local health, safety and fire regulations, keeping the facility hazard-free.

Plumbing & Electrical Work – Address minor plumbing issues such as leaks and clogged drains and resolve electrical problems, including lighting and power failures.

Structural Repairs – Perform maintenance and repairs on flooring, walls, ceilings, doors and furniture as required.

Emergency Response – Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures, to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.

Inventory & Supplies Management – Maintain adequate stock of maintenance tools and replacement parts. Coordinate with vendors for major repairs or new equipment procurement.

Facility Support – Assist with ad hoc facility-related tasks, such as installing posters, signboards and other general maintenance duties.

Collaboration – Work closely with company, restaurant management and staff to ensure maintenance needs are addressed efficiently and the facility remains in optimal condition.
Ad Hoc duties as required.

Requirement:

Willing to travel or outstation

Technical Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or a related field is preferred.

Experience in facilities maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.
