Job summary

SKYLINE CATERING SDN. BHD. is seeking a Facilities Technician (Food and Beverage) to maintain and repair essential equipment and infrastructure, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems. The role requires prompt responses to maintenance requests and strong problem-solving skills.

You will perform routine maintenance, troubleshoot appliances, and coordinate with vendors for major repairs. Fluency in Mandarin is required for direct communication with Chinese-speaking staff and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Willing to travel or outstation.
• Technical Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in facilities maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.
• Knowledge of Safety Standards such as OSHA or other relevant regulations.
• Basic Computer Skills for logging maintenance records and generating reports.
• Strong Problem-Solving Skills with the ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance issues efficiently.
• Fluent in Mandarin (spoken and written) as this position requires direct communication with Chinese-speaking employees.

Responsibilities

• General Maintenance – Inspect and maintain facilities including electrical, plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC units.
• Equipment Repairs – Troubleshoot and repair ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers and related appliances.
• Preventive Maintenance – Implement scheduled programs to reduce breakdowns and extend equipment life.
• Safety & Compliance – Ensure activities meet local health, safety and fire regulations.
• Plumbing & Electrical Work – Address leaks, clogs, lighting and power issues.
• Structural Repairs – Maintain flooring, walls, ceilings, doors and furniture.
• Emergency Response – Respond to outages or equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Inventory & Supplies Management – Manage tools and parts, coordinate major repairs or procurement.
• Facility Support – Assist with ad hoc tasks like installing posters and signage.
• Collaboration – Work with management and staff to address needs efficiently; ad hoc duties as required.
