Job summary

NongGengji Hunan cuisine in Malaysia is hiring a Facilities Technician to maintain and repair essential restaurant equipment and infrastructure. You will handle electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, respond to maintenance requests, and work with restaurant staff to keep operations smooth.

Qualifications

Facilities Technician (Food and Beverage)

The Facilities Technician is responsible for maintaining and repairing all essential company equipment and infrastructure to ensure smooth operations. The role requires technical expertise in electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems, as well as the ability to respond promptly to maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities:

General Maintenance – Perform routine inspections and maintenance of company facilities, including electrical systems, plumbing, refrigeration and HVAC units.

Equipment Repairs – Troubleshoot, repair and maintain company equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, dishwashers and other essential appliances, either independently or through contractors.

Preventive Maintenance – Implement a scheduled maintenance program to minimize breakdowns, improve efficiency and extend equipment lifespan.

Safety & Compliance – Ensure all maintenance activities comply with local health, safety and fire regulations, keeping the facility hazard-free.

Plumbing & Electrical Work – Address minor plumbing issues such as leaks and clogged drains and resolve electrical problems, including lighting and power failures.

Structural Repairs – Perform maintenance and repairs on flooring, walls, ceilings, doors and furniture as required.

Emergency Response – Respond promptly to urgent maintenance requests, such as power outages, leaks, or equipment failures, to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.

Inventory & Supplies Management – Maintain adequate stock of maintenance tools and replacement parts. Coordinate with vendors for major repairs or new equipment procurement.

Facility Support – Assist with ad hoc facility-related tasks, such as installing posters, signboards and other general maintenance duties.

Collaboration – Work closely with company, restaurant management and staff to ensure maintenance needs are addressed efficiently and the facility remains in optimal condition.

Ad Hoc duties as required.

Requirement: Willing to travel or outstation

Technical Certification in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC or a related field is preferred.

Experience in facilities maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.

Knowledge of Safety Standards such as OSHA or other relevant regulations.

Basic Computer Skills for logging maintenance records and generating reports.

Strong Problem-Solving Skills with the ability to work independently and respond to urgent maintenance issues efficiently.
