Job summary

ASTEEL SDN. BHD. is seeking a proactive, customer-focused General Insurance Executive to join our team in Kuching. The role blends sales, customer service and insurance administration to develop strong experience in the general insurance industry.

Key tasks include handling quotes, policies, renewals, claims documentation and reporting, with strong emphasis on accuracy and client follow-up. Diploma or degree in related fields preferred.

Responsibilities

• Source and follow up on new general insurance business opportunities.
• Attend to customer enquiries and prepare insurance quotations.

• Assist customers with claims documentation and submission.
• Follow up on premiums and outstanding payments.

We are looking for a proactive, customer-focused and well-organised General Insurance Executive to join our team. This role combines sales, customer service and insurance administration, providing an opportunity to develop strong experience in the general insurance industry.

Key Responsibilities

Source and follow up on new general insurance business opportunities.

Attend to customer enquiries and prepare insurance quotations.

Process new policies, renewals, endorsements and cancellations.

Monitor policy expiry dates and follow up on renewals.

Assist customers with claims documentation and submission.

Follow up on premiums and outstanding payments.

Liaise with insurance companies on policy and administrative matters.

Maintain accurate customer and policy records.

Ensure proper filing and documentation.

Prepare monthly sales, renewal, premium and claims reports.

Provide administrative support to the General Manager.

Academic Qualification

Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Insurance, Finance, Accounting, Marketing or a related field.

Experience

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in general insurance, insurance agency, sales, customer service or administration.

Experience in handling insurance policies, renewals, quotations and claims will be an advantage.

Fresh graduates with a strong interest in the insurance industry may also be considered.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong customer service and follow-up skills.

Good administrative and organisational skills.

Detail-oriented with good record-keeping skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel.

Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
