Job summary

Bermaz Auto Malaysia offers an IT internship focused on supporting the organization’s IT infrastructure and full asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and secure disposal of IT equipment.

You will perform OS installations, software setup, and endpoint hardening, maintain inventory, patching, licensing tracking, and liaise with vendors for hardware/software acquisitions. The role emphasizes learning, documentation, and basic networking knowledge.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in IT or related field.
• Basic scripting knowledge in PowerShell or Bash.
• Familiar with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Willingness to learn and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLAN, Firewall).
• Strong problem-solving and multitasking abilities.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform OS installation, software setup, and endpoint hardening per standard builds.
• Maintain asset inventory and tagging.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and backups to ensure policy compliance.
• Track warranty, licensing, and support contracts.
• Ensure asset lifecycle aligns with security and audits.
• Manage secure disposal of IT assets with data sanitization.
• Handle end-to-end IT procurement processes (RFQ, quotes, PO).
• Liaise with vendors for hardware/software acquisitions.

Responsible for managing the organization's IT infrastructure and full asset lifecycle, including procurement, deployment, maintenance, and secure disposal of IT equipment, ensuring operational efficiency, compliance and cost control.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform OS installation, software setup, and endpoint hardening following standardization of builds and configurations.
• Maintain asset inventory and tagging.
• Perform patching, upgrades, and backup management to ensure compliance with IT security policies and standards
• Track warranty, licensing, and support contracts.
• Ensure asset lifecycle aligns with security and audit requirements.
• Manage secure disposal of IT assets in line with company policy and regulatory requirements and proper data sanitization / destruction before disposal.
• Manage end-to-end IT procurement process (RFQ, quotation evaluation, PO issuance).
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for hardware/software acquisition.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a degree in any IT related field. Certification in any IT course is an additional advantage.
• Basic understanding of Scripting e.g. PowerShell / Bash (basic automation)
• Familiar with Windows and/or Linux operating systems.
• Willingness to learn and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good attention to detail and documentation skills.
