Job summary

Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team at Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. The role covers design, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems including high-voltage up to 33kV, ensuring regulatory and technical standards are met.

You will read schematics, monitor power quality, liaise with contractors and authorities, and contribute to safe, efficient operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or higher.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
• Certified Chargeman category B0 for systems up to 33kV.
• Full working rights for Malaysia; able to communicate in English or Chinese.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our engineering team at Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based at our facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems across our plant, including high-voltage systems up to 33kV, and for ensuring our electrical infrastructure meets Malaysian regulatory and technical standards. This position is integral to maintaining safe, efficient and reliable electrical operations across the facility.

Key responsibilities

Oversee the maintenance, troubleshooting and performance of electrical systems and equipment across the plant, including high-voltage systems up to 33kV

Read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams to diagnose and resolve electrical issues

Investigate and troubleshoot power quality issues, and manage maximum demand (MD) to optimise electrical efficiency and cost

Ensure electrical systems and work comply with Malaysian electrical standards, TNB/NUR technical requirements, and relevant safety regulations

Prepare technical reports, documentation and written communications relating to electrical systems and projects

Liaise and coordinate with internal teams, contractors and relevant authorities on electrical matters

Support electrical equipment maintenance planning and execution across the facility

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve engineering issues and support production and operational goals

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the production facility

What we're looking for

Candidates with full working rights for Malaysia, with the ability to communicate in Chinese or English

Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Electrical Engineering or a related field

Holds an electrical equipment maintenance competency certificate, Chargeman category B0 (high voltage), certified for systems up to 33kV

At least 5 years of working experience in an industrial manufacturing environment

Familiar with Malaysian electrical standards, TNB/NUR technical requirements, and relevant safety regulations

Able to read and interpret electrical schematic diagrams

Experience troubleshooting power quality issues and managing maximum demand (MD)

Good verbal expression, written communication and learning ability

Good communication, coordination and teamwork skills
