Job summary

Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd, based in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah, is seeking a Production Operator (Casting) to join our manufacturing team on a full-time basis. You will operate casting machinery, read control interfaces, monitor quality, and maintain records to support meeting production targets and customer satisfaction.

The role requires experience in casting/manufacturing, strong safety awareness, and willingness to travel to China for hands-on training.

Qualifications

• Full working rights for Malaysia; fluent Chinese (listening, speaking, reading and writing) with basic English or Bahasa Malaysia
• Experience as production/operator in casting or manufacturing
• Willingness to travel to China for hands-on training
• Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals; interpret process parameters and safety regulations
• Strong safety awareness including pressure vessel safety and crane operations

Job description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Production Operator (Casting) to join the manufacturing team at Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based at our facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. As a Production Operator, you will play a crucial role in our casting operations, ensuring the production of high-quality quartz products whilst maintaining strict adherence to safety and quality standards. This position is fundamental to our manufacturing success and directly contributes to meeting production targets and customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

Operate casting machinery and equipment in accordance with established procedures and safety protocols

Proficiently operate computer control systems, and read and interpret equipment control interfaces, process parameters, and alarm information

Monitor production processes to ensure products meet quality specifications and standards

Prepare raw materials and components required for the casting process

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of casting equipment to ensure optimal functionality

Inspect finished products for defects and ensure proper documentation of quality checks

Follow work instructions and manufacturing procedures, including equipment manuals and safety regulations, to maintain consistency and efficiency

Maintain accurate production records and reports as required

Correctly wear and use personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain familiarity with everyday tools and measuring instruments

Maintain a clean and tidy 5S work site, with materials kept in their designated positions and walkways/aisles kept clear

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve production issues, support the shift team in completing production tasks, and improve processes

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the production facility, including pressure vessel safety standards

Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in relevant training programmes, including an initial hands‑on training trip to our facility in China (planned for early July)

What we're looking for

Candidates with full working rights for Malaysia, with fluent Chinese listening, speaking, reading and writing ability, plus basic conversational English and/or Bahasa Malaysia

Willing and able to travel to China for hands‑on training (tentatively early July)

Proven experience as a production operator or in a similar manufacturing role, preferably within casting or related operations

Strong understanding of machinery operation and basic mechanical knowledge, including basic knowledge of pressure vessel and automated equipment operation

At least 3 team members must hold special operator certification(s) that meet Malaysian pressure vessel and overhead crane (gantry crane) regulatory requirements; candidates holding a pressure vessel operator certificate, overhead crane signal/command certificate, and/or forklift license are preferred

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, equipment manuals, safety regulations, and work instructions

Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality and accuracy

Willing and able to work rotating shifts (3-shift roster), including overtime as needed, with a minimum of 240 working hours per month

Good physical fitness and ability to work in a manufacturing environment, including standing for extended periods and withstanding a reasonable degree of physical labour

Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team

High reliability, stability, and a strong sense of responsibility, with commitment to consistent attendance and punctuality

Strong safety awareness, including familiarity with pressure vessel safety regulations

Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes and technologies

Familiarity with 5S management practices

Knowledge of health and safety procedures and commitment to maintaining a safe workplace

Relevant certifications or qualifications in manufacturing or machinery operation would be advantageous
