Job summary

S.E.M. DYNAMIC ENGINEERS SDN. BHD. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Bertam facility in Penang. This full-time role focuses on design, development, and implementation of electrical systems for a diverse project portfolio.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• PE licence or equivalent qualification; Provisional Engineer status acceptable for entry-level candidates.
• 1–5 years of practical experience in electrical engineering design, project management, or installation.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory or equivalent tools.
• Strong knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and local Malaysian standards.
• Experience with power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, and industrial electrical equipment.

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team at our Bertam, Penang facility. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and solutions for our diverse portfolio of projects. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure whilst contributing to innovative engineering solutions that drive the company forward.

Key responsibilities

Design and develop electrical systems, circuits, and components in accordance with industry standards and project specifications

Conduct feasibility studies and technical assessments for electrical projects and infrastructure upgrades

Prepare detailed electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation using CAD software and engineering tools

Perform load calculations, power system analysis, and energy efficiency evaluations

Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including mechanical, civil, and instrumentation engineers to ensure seamless project integration

Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems and equipment

Troubleshoot electrical faults and provide technical support for operational systems

Ensure compliance with electrical codes, regulations, safety standards, and company policies

Conduct site inspections and quality audits to verify workmanship and adherence to specifications

Maintain accurate project records, progress reports, and technical documentation

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution

Professional Engineering (PE) licence or equivalent qualification; Provisional Engineer (PE) status is acceptable for entry-level candidates

Minimum of 1-5 years of practical experience in electrical engineering design, project management, or installation

Proficiency in electrical design software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, or similar industry-standard tools

Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (IEC, IEEE, local Malaysian standards)

Experience with power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, and industrial electrical equipment

Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal; proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia is advantageous

Attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety in all technical endeavours

Willingness to travel occasionally to project sites for commissioning, testing, and on-site troubleshooting
