Job summary

Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking skilled Mechanical Fitters for its Kedah facility. The role covers maintenance, inspection and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment to keep production running safely and reliably.

You will participate in installation, commissioning, and a short training program in China as part of onboarding.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of equipment maintenance experience
• Must communicate in Chinese or English
• One team member must hold a valid DOSH welder certificate
• Willing to work 3-shift roster with 240 hours per month
• Willing to start by mid-August and travel to China for training and onboarding

Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance, inspection, disassembly and assembly of mechanical equipment
• Replace and align/calibrate bearings, belts, chains, reducers/gearboxes, gears, cylinders, guide rails and lead screws
• Carry out preventive maintenance and lubrication schedules
• Adjustments and troubleshooting of vibration and abnormal noise issues
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical faults using established methods
• Support equipment installation and commissioning at our Malaysia branch
• Maintain maintenance records and documentation
• Collaborate with team to resolve equipment issues and support production targets
• Adhere to health, safety and environmental regulations

Job description

We are seeking skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitters to join our maintenance team at Pacific Quartz (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd. This is a full-time position based at our facility in Kulim Hi-Tech Park, Kedah. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical equipment across our plant, helping to keep our production lines running safely and reliably, and supporting equipment installation and commissioning work. This position is integral to minimising downtime and maintaining consistent production output.

Key responsibilities

Perform routine equipment maintenance, inspection, disassembly and assembly work on mechanical and electromechanical equipment

Replace and align/calibrate bearings, belts, chains, reducers/gearboxes, gears, cylinders, guide rails, and lead screws

Carry out equipment point-checks, preventive maintenance and lubrication schedules

Perform precision adjustments and troubleshoot vibration and abnormal noise issues

Diagnose and resolve common mechanical equipment faults using established troubleshooting methods

Support equipment installation and commissioning work at our Malaysian branch

Complete a short-term hands-on training programme in China as part of onboarding

Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation of work performed

Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve equipment issues and support production targets

Adhere to all health, safety and environmental regulations within the production facility

What we're looking for

Candidates with full working rights for Malaysia, with the ability to communicate in Chinese or English

Minimum SPM (high school) education or above

At least 3 years of equipment maintenance experience, with a solid understanding of the working principles of mechanical and electromechanical equipment

Basic skills in equipment maintenance, inspection, disassembly and assembly

Practical experience replacing and aligning bearings, belts, chains, reducers/gearboxes, gears, cylinders, guide rails and lead screws

Knowledge of equipment point-checks, maintenance, lubrication, precision adjustment, and vibration/abnormal noise troubleshooting

Strong troubleshooting skills for common mechanical equipment faults

One team member (of the three hires) must hold a valid welder certificate recognised by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia

Good verbal expression, written communication and learning ability

Good communication, coordination and teamwork skills

Willing and able to work rotating shifts (3-shift roster), with a minimum of 240 working hours per month

High reliability, stability and a strong sense of responsibility

Available to start by mid-August, willing to travel to China for a short-term hands-on training programme, and willing to support equipment installation and commissioning work at our Malaysian branch
