Jora Malaysia is seeking a compliant and customer-focused customs clearance professional to manage import/export shipments from start to finish. You will handle declarations, verify regulatory compliance and communicate shipment status to customers, while coordinating with internal teams to ensure timely delivery and accurate billing.
The role requires familiarity with Malaysian customs, experience in freight forwarding, and strong English plus local language skills.

Handle end-to-end customs clearance process for import/export shipments.
Prepare, review and submit customs declarations accurately (e.g.,K1,K2,K8 or relevant system entries)
Ensure compliance with all Malaysian customs requirements and regulatory guidelines.
Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, required documents and any issues affecting custom clearance.
Monitor clearance status and ensure timely release of shipments
Handle duty/tax calculation, classification (HS code), and valuation of goods
Data entry and updating in operational system: Rank Alpha / ROCS etc.
Plan delivery in advance and arrange transport for immediate delivery upon customs approval.
Resolve clearance issues, discrepancies, or delays promptly
Support billing and invoicing processes
Perform complete file closure upon job completion, ensuring all documentation and billing are properly finalized
Maintain accurate filing and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
Meeting time frame KPIs for escalations to the next tier levels for unresolved issues.
Providing and monitoring high quality customer service.
Undertake ad-hoc assignments as assigned by the Head of Department
Qualifications
Candidate must possess at least a Higher Secondary / STPM / "A" Levels / Certificate / Diploma.
3 years working experience in the related field.
Familiar with freight forwarding industry.
Proficient in both English and local language(s) – written and verbal communication skills.
Specialist Knowledge and Skills
Strong knowledge of Malaysian Customs requirements.
Familiar with systems such as SMK, DagangNet, or related platforms.
Highly motivated to learn new processes, receive feedback and work independently.
Minimal supervision to complete tasks, highly trainable and approachable.
Ability to work independently and handle time-sensitive tasks.
Strong multitasking and prioritization skills in a dynamic, high-volume work environment
Professional working attitude.
Local communication skills are an advantage.
