Custom Declaration (Fresh Grads are Welcome!)
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Customs Declaration Assistant to support our import and export customs clearance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and processing customs declarations, verifying documentation, and ensuring compliance with Malaysian customs regulations and company procedures.
You will work closely with internal operations teams, customers, freight forwarders, and customs authorities to ensure accurate, timely, and smooth cargo clearance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, verify, and submit import and export customs declarations accurately and within the required timelines.
- Ensure all customs declarations comply with Royal Malaysian Customs Department (RMCD) regulations and other relevant government requirements.
- Review and verify supporting documents, including commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading, Air Waybills, permits, certificates, and other related documents.
- Monitor the status of customs declarations and follow up on pending submissions.
- Liaise with customers, operations teams, freight partners, and customs authorities to resolve queries, discrepancies, and documentation issues.
- Assist in applying for relevant customs permits, exemptions, approvals, and licenses where required.
- Maintain accurate records of customs declarations and supporting documentation.
- Ensure all customs documentation is properly filed and maintained for reference and audit purposes.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Customs, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience in customs declaration, freight forwarding, logistics, import/export, or customs clearance.
- Fresh graduates with relevant knowledge or internship experience are encouraged to apply.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
