Job summary

CRCG (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a seasoned Quantity Surveying/Commercial professional to manage cost controls, notices, EOT submissions and subcontract procurement for complex construction projects in Malaysia.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in cost management, QS or contract administration, preferably with a main contractor background, and strong skills in MS Excel and MS Word.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Contract Management, or related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, contract administration or commercial management.
Experience with EOT, contractual notices, claims, commercial correspondence and contract administration in the construction industry.

Responsibilities

Prepare, review and issue contractual notices (Delay, Claim, EOT) and other notices.
Coordinate EOT submissions with supporting documents and approvals.
Prepare and organize EOT and contractual claim documentation.
Draft and respond to commercial and contractual correspondence with Directly Appointed Contractors / Nominated Contractors and Employers' Direct Contracts where applicable.
Maintain records of contractual correspondence, notices, claims, EOT submissions and other commercial documents.
Assist in tendering and procurement of subcontractors (sourcing, prequalification, BQ preparation, tender invitation, tender evaluation and price comparison).
Prepare and analyze Bills of Quantities, quotations, tender submissions and commercial comparisons.
Review subcontractors' quotations, scope of work, exclusions, qualifications and commercial terms.
Assist in the preparation, negotiation and administration of subcontract agreements, variation orders, payment-related matters and other commercial issues.
Monitor subcontractor commercial performance and ensure proper recording of contractual matters.
Coordinate with Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Team, Planning Team, Consultants and Subcontractors on commercial matters.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records, including tender documents, contracts, correspondence, claims, variations and cost information.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

Prepare, review and issue contractual notices, including Notice of Delay, Notice of Claim, EOT-related notices and other contractual correspondence.

Coordinate and manage the preparation of Extension of Time (EOT) submissions, including compiling supporting documents, reviewing relevant records, tracking submission status and following up on approvals.

Prepare, review and organize EOT and contractual claim documentation, ensuring that all submissions are properly supported by relevant project records and contractual provisions.

Draft, review and respond to commercial and contractual correspondence, particularly matters related to Directly Appointed Contractors / Nominated Contractors and Employer's Direct Contracts, where applicable.

Maintain proper records of contractual correspondence, notices, claims, EOT submissions and other commercial documents.

Assist in the tendering and procurement of subcontractors, including subcontractor sourcing, prequalification, BQ preparation, tender invitation, tender evaluation and price comparison.

Monitor subcontractor commercial performance and ensure that contractual and commercial matters are properly recorded and followed up.

Coordinate with the Project Manager, Quantity Surveyors, Contracts Team, Planning Team, Consultants and Subcontractors on commercial and contractual matters.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date commercial records, including tender documents, contracts, correspondence, claims, EOT submissions, variations and cost information.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the management.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Contract Management, Commercial Management or a related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in cost management, quantity surveying, contract administration or commercial management within the construction industry.

Candidates with experience working for a Main Contractor / General Contractor are highly preferred.

Solid experience in EOT, contractual notices, claims, commercial correspondence and contract administration.

Experience in subcontractor tendering, BQ preparation, quotation analysis, price comparison and subcontract procurement.

Good understanding of construction contracts, subcontract agreements and commercial procedures.

Ability to independently prepare professional commercial letters, contractual notices, EOT submissions and related documentation.

Good analytical and numerical skills, with the ability to review and compare costs, quotations and commercial proposals.

Good communication, negotiation and coordination skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.

Good command of English, both written and spoken. Ability to communicate in Chinese will be an advantage.

Able to work independently, meet deadlines and manage multiple commercial matters simultaneously.

Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills and a proactive working attitude.

Experience with PAM, FIDIC or other standard forms of construction contracts will be an advantage.

Experience in construction projects in Malaysia will be an added advantage.
