CHEC CONSTRUCTION (M) SDN BHD is seeking a Senior Risk Manager to develop, implement, and maintain the project risk management framework. You will identify, assess, and monitor risks across construction activities, schedule, cost, contracts, and safety to safeguard project objectives.
You will maintain risk registers, matrices, and mitigation plans while coordinating with Project Managers, Engineering, Commercial, QS, HSE, QA/QC, and subcontractors.
Develop, implement, and maintain the project's overall risk management framework and procedures.
Identify and assess potential risks related to construction activities, project schedule, cost, contracts, design, resources, quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Maintain and regularly update the Project Risk Register, risk matrix, and risk mitigation plans.
Monitor identified risks and ensure appropriate preventive and corrective actions are implemented.
Conduct regular risk assessments and risk review meetings with relevant project departments.
Analyse potential impacts of risks on project cost, schedule, quality, safety, and project objectives.
Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial/Contract teams, QS, HSE, QA/QC, and subcontractors to identify and manage project risks.
Monitor construction progress and identify emerging risks that may affect project milestones and completion dates.
Assess risks arising from design changes, variation orders, delays, procurement, subcontractors, materials, plant and equipment, and site conditions.
Support the development of risk mitigation and contingency plans for significant project risks.
Review project reports, method statements, construction programmes, and other relevant documents to identify potential risks.
Assist in evaluating contractual and commercial risks, including claims, extensions of time, variations, and potential disputes.
Monitor compliance with contractual, statutory, regulatory, and project requirements.
Prepare regular risk management reports and present key risks, trends, and mitigation measures to Project Management and Senior Management.
Escalate significant or critical risks to management and recommend appropriate actions.
Promote risk awareness and a proactive risk management culture across the project team.
Maintain proper documentation and records of risk assessments, mitigation measures, and risk-related decisions.
Carry out other risk management duties and responsibilities as assigned by Management.
Bachelor's Degree in Risk Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in risk management, project management, construction, or infrastructure projects.
Experience in large-scale infrastructure, civil engineering, rail, road, bridge, or transportation projects will be an advantage.
Strong understanding of construction processes, project management, contracts, and risk management principles.
Experience in preparing and maintaining Risk Registers, Risk Assessments, Risk Matrices, and Risk Mitigation Plans.
Good knowledge of project cost, schedule, contractual, technical, safety, and operational risks.
Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multiple project departments and stakeholders.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of project management or risk management software is an advantage.
Good command of English, both written and spoken. Knowledge of Mandarin will be an added advantage.
