China Railway Oversea Engineering (M) Sdn. Bhd. is seeking an ID Coordinator / Interior Finishing Coordinator to oversee the on-site interior finishing and fit-out works from start to finish.
The role involves coordinating daily site activities among subcontractors, local management staff, consultants and project teams to ensure work aligns with drawings and project requirements. The ideal candidate has at least 3 years in construction site management or interior finishing, with strong knowledge
Coordinate and manage the overall on-site interior finishing and fit-out works, ensuring smooth execution from commencement to completion.
Coordinate daily site activities among subcontractors, local management staff, consultants and other project teams to ensure works are carried out according to approved drawings, specifications and project requirements.
Coordinate the sequence and interfaces of different finishing trades, including but not limited to architectural finishes, ceilings, partitions, doors, flooring, wall finishes, painting, joinery and other interior works.
Prepare and independently manage interior finishing work programmes, work sequences and short-term schedules based on the overall project programme.
Monitor site progress and coordinate different trades to ensure that works are completed according to the planned schedule.
Follow up and coordinate inspection, testing, rectification and acceptance of interior finishing works.
Identify and report drawing discrepancies, construction issues, workmanship defects and quality problems at site, and coordinate with relevant parties to implement corrective actions.
Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure that construction works comply with approved drawings, method statements, specifications, quality standards and applicable regulations.
Provide timely follow-up on site instructions, inspection comments, outstanding works and rectification items to ensure that issues are properly closed out.
Communicate and coordinate effectively with local management personnel and subcontractors in Bahasa Malaysia (Malay) to ensure smooth site execution.
Liaise with consultants and relevant project departments on technical, construction and coordination matters related to interior finishing works.
Maintain proper records of site inspections, coordination matters, outstanding works, rectification works and acceptance status.
Ensure that instructions and decisions are effectively communicated to the relevant site personnel and subcontractors and are implemented on site.
Take responsibility for the execution and implementation of assigned interior finishing works, ensuring that agreed actions are followed through to completion.
Perform other duties and responsibilities assigned by the management.
Mandarin-speaking is required to liaise with Mandarin speaking clients.
Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction site management or interior finishing / fit-out works.
Experience in building construction, interior fit-out or hotel/resort projects will be an advantage.
Good knowledge of interior finishing construction methods, workmanship, specifications, quality requirements and applicable standards.
Able to read and understand architectural, ID and construction drawings and identify discrepancies or potential construction issues.
Able to identify site quality problems and workmanship defects and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
Able to independently prepare interior finishing work programmes, work sequences and short-term construction schedules.
Good command of Bahasa Malaysia (Malay) and able to communicate effectively with local management personnel and subcontractors without significant language barriers.
Good communication, coordination and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple parties and resolve site issues effectively.
Strong sense of responsibility, ownership and execution.
Proactive, detail-oriented and able to follow up tasks until completion.
Able to work independently under pressure and meet project deadlines.
Good understanding of site coordination, inspection, handover and acceptance procedures.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
Ability to communicate in English will be an advantage.
Experience working on projects in Malaysia will be an advantage.
The ideal candidate should be a hands‑on site coordinator who is able to identify problems, coordinate the relevant parties and ensure that solutions are actually implemented on site.
The candidate should have strong communication, coordination and execution capabilities, rather than being limited to document preparation. Experience in coordinating interior finishing works for large‑scale building, hotel or resort projects will be highly preferred.
