Job summary

Setia Awan in Malaysia seeks an Executive Quantity Surveyor to support pre- and post-contract activities on development projects in Selangor. You will assist tendering, cost studies, and procurement, coordinating with consultants and contractors.

Applicants should have a Diploma/Bachelors in Quantity Surveying and 2–5 years of related experience, with strong English and Bahasa Malaysia communication. The role requires independence and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• 2–5 years of related experience for executive level.
• Experience with property development or real estate is a plus.
• Strong English communication skills; Bahasa Malaysia required.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Assist HOD/Manager on all pre and post contract documentation, tendering, and cost study preparation.
• Gather contractors' and consultants' quotations for management approval.
• Understand construction drawings and BQ specifications.
• Assist in contract administration and project procurement.
• Prepare budgeting and cash flow projections for development projects.
• Support value engineering and recommendations for awards within budget and timeline.
• Prepare progress claims, final accounts, and valuations; handle contractual claims.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

• To assist the HOD / Senior Manager / Manager on all pre and post contract documentations, taking off of tender, follow-up on tender, cost study preparation, gather contractors' and consultant quotations for Management's approval.


• Understanding in construction drawing and BQ specification.


• To assist the HOD / Senior Manager / Manager on dealing with consultants, contractors in dissolving issue pertaining to the contracts.


• To assist project team on matters relating contract administration and project procurement.


• Preparing budgeting, cash flow projection for development projects.


• To assist the HOD / Senior Manager / Manager on value engineering for alternatives to increase functionality and cost effective.


• To assist the HOD / Senior Manager / Manager on recommendations for award of work packages within the budgeted cost and targeted timeline.


• Prepare contractors' and consultants' progress claims, final account, valuation of contract works and familiar with contractual claims.


• Perform other ad-hoc assignment and any other duties as assigned by the Management from time to time.

Education, Experience and Skill Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma, Advanced/ Higher/ Graduate Diploma, Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, or any technical degree related to property development.


• 2 to 5 year(s) of related experience for Executive position.


• Candidate with experience in property developer/ real estate is an advantage for this position.


• Ability to function as an effective team member where he or she can rapidly adapt to the corporate culture and be valued as a team member.


• Able to work independently and efficiency with less supervision and hardworking.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.


• Required language (s): English & Bahasa Malaysia.
