About the role

We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager to join M&M PROJECT BUILDER SDN. BHD. in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects through effective contract administration and management. As a Contract Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all contractual aspects of our projects, from inception through to completion. This role is strategically important to our organisation, as it directly impacts project profitability, client satisfaction, and our reputation within the construction industry.

Key responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating construction contracts with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure clear terms and conditions that protect company interests
• Managing contract performance and ensuring all parties comply with contractual obligations, specifications, and project timelines
• Monitoring project budgets and costs, tracking variations, claims, and change orders to maintain financial control
• Preparing and maintaining comprehensive contract documentation, including correspondence, meeting minutes, and project records
• Identifying and mitigating contractual risks and disputes before they escalze into major issues
• Liaising between internal teams (project managers, engineers, finance) and external parties (clients, contractors, consultants) to ensure smooth project execution
• Processing invoices, certifications, and payments in accordance with contractual terms and company procedures
• Conducting regular contract reviews and ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards
• Resolving contractual disputes and managing claims resolution processes professionally and efficiently
• Maintaining relationships with key stakeholders and providing contract-related advice to senior management

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in construction contract management or a related field within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including standard forms such as PAM, CIDB, or international contract standards
• Excellent understanding of construction project delivery, procurement processes, and contractual obligations
• Proficiency in contract drafting, negotiation, and dispute resolution
• Proven ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously and prioritise effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Competency in using contract management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Professional qualifications such as a degree in Law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline
• Membership or professional certification with bodies such as CIOB, RICS, or equivalent is highly desirable
• Knowledge of Malaysian construction laws, regulations, and industry practices
