Job summary

Binaan Desjaya Sdn. Bhd. in Ranau District, Sabah, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead our on-site and project teams from inception to completion.

You will ensure projects meet deadlines, stay within budget, and comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, robust planning, and effective communication with clients, consultants, and suppliers across Sabah.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 6 years' experience in construction management or a similar supervisory role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, methods and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organising and coordinating all aspects of construction projects to ensure timely and effective delivery.
• Managing project budgets, resources and timelines whilst maintaining cost control and identifying potential savings.
• Supervising and directing construction teams on site, including contractors, subcontractors and labourers.
• Ensuring all work complies with safety regulations, building codes and industry standards.
• Liaising with clients, architects, engineers and other stakeholders to maintain clear communication and manage expectations.
• Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as required.
• Conducting site inspections and quality assurance checks to maintain high construction standards.
• Preparing and maintaining project documentation, reports and records.
• Managing procurement of materials, equipment and services.
• Ensuring compliance with local regulations and obtaining necessary permits and approvals

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join Binaan Desjaya Sdn. Bhd. in the Ranau District, Sabah. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing construction projects from inception through to completion. As Construction Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This strategic position is integral to our company's success and reputation in the construction industry, with direct impact on project outcomes, team performance, and client satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

What we're looking for

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 6 years' experience in construction management or a similar supervisory role within the construction industry
• Strong knowledge of construction practices, materials, methods and safety protocols
• Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office applications
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience supervising diverse teams
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels
• Sound financial acumen and experience with budget management and cost control
• Knowledge of local building regulations, safety standards and environmental requirements in Malaysia
• Ability to work in challenging site conditions and adapt to changing project requirements
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within the Ranau District, Sabah.
