Themetech International is seeking a senior construction project lead in Malaysia to define scope, schedule, and manage multidisciplinary site teams across architectural, structural, and M&E works.
You will oversee budgets, ensure compliance with codes and safety, mentor junior staff, and drive on-time delivery in fast-paced environments.

Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in alignment with company's requirements. Develop comprehensive project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation plans using industry-standard planning tools to ensure efficient project execution.
Lead multidisciplinary site teams, manage resources effectively, and track project progress against established milestones. Ensure seamless coordination among all trades and contractors to maintain project momentum.
Oversee project budgets and allocate resources strategically to optimize costs without compromising quality. Monitor expenditure, review progress claims, and implement cost-saving measures where applicable.
Champion Project Quality Plan (PQP) implementation and ensure all construction activities comply with approved specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. Conduct regular inspections to maintain the highest quality standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for company and consultants. Chair project meetings, address concerns promptly, and ensure all stakeholder instructions are clearly communicated and executed on-site.
Proactively identify potential project risks, develop contingency plans, and implement mitigation strategies to minimise disruptions and ensure project continuity.
Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of contract scopes, terms, and obligations. Manage contractual matters on-site including variations, claims, and ensure compliance with contractual deliverables.
Address technical and operational challenges efficiently with practical, cost-effective solutions. Exercise sound judgment in resolving site issues to keep projects on track.
Guide and mentor junior engineers and site personnel, fostering a culture of learning and professional growth. Share knowledge and best practices to develop the next generation of construction professionals.
Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, Architecture, or related construction disciplines.
Minimum 5 years of progressive experience leading architectural trades and managing construction projects. Demonstrable track record in delivering residential or commercial property developments is highly advantageous.
Candidates with mature judgment and established project management capabilities are preferred for this senior role.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project or equivalent project planning software for scheduling, resource management, and progress tracking.
Proven ability to lead diverse teams, coordinate multiple contractors, and drive project success in fast-paced construction environments.
Hands-on experience with on-site contract administration, quality control processes, and coordination of architectural, structural, and M&E works.
Excellent communication abilities to effectively engage with co-workers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders. Strong report writing and presentation skills.
Patient, approachable demeanor with demonstrated experience in coaching and developing junior team members. Passion for knowledge sharing and team building will be considered a strong advantage.
