Job summary

Forte Emerald is seeking a capable Civil Construction Coordinator to oversee day-to-day activities of construction projects from start to finish. You will coordinate with consultants, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely, compliant delivery.

The role requires a Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with strong planning, communication, and problem-solving skills, and willingness to travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field.
• Experience in construction or property development is required.
• Strong planning, coordination and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of construction drawings, specifications and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor day-to-day activities of construction projects from commencement to completion.
• Assist in project planning, scheduling and monitoring to ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and internal departments.
• Monitor progress and ensure works follow approved plans and drawings.
• Conduct site visits and ensure quality and compliance with requirements.
• Identify issues, risks and cost implications and propose corrective actions.
• Assist in managing budgets, costs, variations and cost control.
• Monitor contractors' performance and ensure timely, high-quality work.
• Prepare regular progress reports and provide updates to management.
• Maintain project documentation, records and correspondence.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor day-to-day activities of construction projects from commencement to completion
• Assist in project planning, scheduling and monitoring to ensure timely project delivery
• Coordinate with consultants, contractors, sub-contractors, suppliers and internal departments on project matters
• Monitor project progress and ensure construction works are carried out according to approved plans, drawings and specifications
• Conduct regular site visits and monitor work progress, quality and compliance with project requirements
• Identify project issues, risks, delays and potential cost implications, and recommend appropriate corrective actions
• Assist in managing project budgets, costs, variations and overall cost control
• Monitor contractors' performance and ensure works are completed according to agreed timelines and quality standards
• Prepare regular project progress reports and provide updates to management
• Ensure proper project documentation, records and correspondence are maintained

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in construction or property development
• Good knowledge of construction processes, project planning and site coordination
• Experience in coordinating contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
• Strong project planning, coordination and problem-solving skills
• Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Good understanding of project documentation, construction drawings and specifications
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant project management software
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines
• Willing to travel to project sites when required
