Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee end-to-end delivery of multiple projects in Malaysia. The role emphasizes planning, coordination with clients and contractors, and ensuring compliance with drawings, specs, and contractual requirements.

The ideal candidate will bring 5–7 years of relevant experience, strong leadership, and fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia to drive project success and safe, on-budget completion.

Qualifications

  • Certificate, Diploma or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in civil engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of related work experience.
  • Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, manage, monitor, and complete construction projects.
  • Ensure on-time, on-scope, and within-budget delivery.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specs, and contractual requirements.
  • Oversee health, safety and environmental compliance.
  • Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
  • Attend project coordination and progress meetings.
  • Prepare progress reports for management and clients.
  • Manage variations, claims, and extension-of-time issues.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier performance.
  • Maintain project documentation and handover records.
  • Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and handover.

To plan, manage, and oversee construction projects from commencement to completion, ensuring that the project is delivered safely, within budget, on schedule, and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, quality standards, and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and completion of construction projects.
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and relevant authorities.
  • Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
  • Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) requirements.
  • Identify project risks, delays, and potential issues and implement appropriate corrective actions.
  • Monitor the quality of construction work and ensure defects are rectified.
  • Conduct and attend project coordination and progress meetings.
  • Prepare and submit project progress reports to management and clients.
  • Manage variations, claims, extension-of-time matters, and contractual issues.
  • Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance.
  • Resolve site issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper project documentation, records, and handover documents are maintained.
  • Coordinate testing, inspections, commissioning, and project handover.
Qualification & Experience:
  • Candidate must possess at least a Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced/Higher/Graduate Diploma in Civil Engineering, Building Construction, Construction Management, Architectural or a related field.
  • Relevant professional or safety certifications are an advantage.
  • Minimum 5-7 years related work experience.
  • Good command in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, project planning, cost control, and contract administration.
  • Good leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Knowledge of relevant HSE and construction regulations.
