Job summary

United Overseas Bank (Malaysia) Bhd in Sabah is seeking an experienced Branch Manager to lead a high-performing team, drive revenue across retail, SME and corporate segments, and serve as the primary business ambassador for the branch.

You will balance growth with risk, ensure regulatory compliance, develop staff skills, and nurture customer relationships while advancing digital initiatives and cross-border banking solutions.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Finance, Banking, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 - 12 years of banking experience, with at least 3 - 5 years in a leadership or branch management role.
• Strong track record in sales management, business development, and achieving financial targets.
• Proven leadership capabilities with experience in managing, coaching, and developing teams.
• Sound knowledge of banking products, operations, risk management, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance growth and risk effectively.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer-centric mindset with a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the branch’s business plan and strategy in line with profitability and sustainable growth.
• Drive revenue generation across all segments, identifying opportunities to expand market share and deepen customer relationships.
• Proactively lead, motivate, and manage the sales force to achieve and exceed sales targets across retail, SME, and corporate segments.
• Monitor sales pipelines and implement strategies to improve productivity, conversion rates, and overall performance.
• Act as the primary business ambassador for the branch, building and sustaining strong relationships with customers, partners, and stakeholders.
• Identify, develop, and capture new business opportunities to grow the branch portfolio.
