Job summary

EHH Food Industry Sdn. Bhd. is a Malaysian food manufacturer seeking a Boiler Operator to manage start-up, operation and shutdown of boiler systems in a compliant and safe manner.

You will monitor critical parameters, support utility systems, perform water treatment duties and ensure maintenance and accurate documentation across all plant areas. The role requires daily inspections, problem diagnosis, and swift escalation of critical issues, with close cooperation with production staff to meet

Responsibilities

• Operate, start up, shut down and monitor boiler systems in line with SOPs, DOSH requirements and safety standards.
• Control and monitor boiler parameters including pressure, temperature, water level, combustion efficiency and steam output.
• Support operation and maintenance of steam distribution, compressed air, water supply and LPG systems to meet production needs.
• Conduct boiler water quality testing and maintain chemical parameters such as TDS, hardness, pH, blowdown and softener performance.
• Manage chemical dosing and ensure safe receiving, storage and handling of water treatment chemicals, diesel, petrol and LPG.
• Perform daily inspections, housekeeping, cleaning, basic repairs and preventive maintenance on boilers, steam pipelines, valves, compressors, forklifts, chainsaws and related equipment.
• Identify, troubleshoot and respond to boiler breakdowns or abnormal operating conditions; escalate critical issues as needed.
• Ensure compliance with DOSH, safety, environmental and company regulations; coordinate statutory inspections, audits and certifications.
• Record and maintain accurate operational logbooks, fuel and chemical consumption, maintenance reports and statutory documentation.
• Oversee and assign daily tasks to firemen or utility assistants and liaise with production supervisors regarding steam demand and process issues.

Job description

1. Operate, start up, shut down, and monitor boiler systems in accordance with approved SOPs, DOSH requirements, and safety standards.

2. Control and monitor boiler operating parameters including pressure, temperature, water level, combustion efficiency, and steam output.

3. Support the operation and maintenance of steam distribution, compressed air, water supply, and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) systems to meet production needs.

Water Treatment & Chemical Control

1. Conduct boiler water quality testing and maintain chemical parameters such as TDS, hardness, pH, blowdown, and softener system performance.

2. Manage chemical dosing and ensure safe receiving, storage, handling, and inventory control of water treatment chemicals, diesel, petrol, and LPG.

Inspection, Maintenance & Troubleshooting

1. Perform daily inspections, housekeeping, cleaning, basic repairs, and preventive maintenance on boilers, steam pipelines, valves, compressors, forklifts, chainsaws, and related utility equipment.

2. Identify, troubleshoot, and respond promptly to boiler breakdowns, utility system faults, or abnormal operating conditions, escalating critical issues when necessary.

Safety, Compliance & Housekeeping

1. Ensure full compliance with DOSH, safety, environmental, and company regulations, including preparation and coordination of statutory inspections, audits, and certifications.

2. Maintain boiler house, compressor room, and surrounding utility areas in a clean, safe, organized, and compliant condition at all times.

3. Ensure all safety devices, interlocks, alarms, and protective equipment are functional and properly maintained.

Documentation & Reporting

1. Record and maintain accurate operational logbooks, fuel and chemical consumption records, maintenance reports, and statutory documentation.

2. Prepare and submit utility-related reports and updates as required by management or regulatory bodies.

Supervision & Coordination

1. Oversee and assign daily work activities to firemen or utility assistants, ensuring tasks are completed safely and on schedule.

2. Liaise closely with production supervisors and process personnel regarding steam demand, process issues, and operational coordination.
