Job summary

EHH Food Industry Sdn. Bhd. is seeking a Logistics Maintenance Executive to oversee inspection, maintenance, and repair of our fleet of company trucks.

You will focus on preventive maintenance, timely breakdown resolutions, and ensuring compliant and safe operation for food logistics. Responsibilities include conducting regular vehicle inspections, maintaining fluids and tires, coordinating with workshops, and ensuring adherence to JPJ, PUSPAKOM, HACCP, and GMP standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in fleet maintenance and repair within logistics or FMCG sectors.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance and inspections on trucks and lorries.
• Familiarity with JPJ, PUSPAKOM, HACCP and GMP standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform daily and periodic inspections of all company trucks.
• Maintain engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, tires, and other fluids.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspensions.
• Ensure trucks are roadworthy and compliant with safety standards.
• Coordinate with workshops or vendors for scheduled maintenance.
• Respond to breakdowns, arrange towing, and provide quick fixes.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities and downtime.
• Oversee refrigeration systems on cold-chain trucks where applicable.

Job description

The Logistics Maintenance Executive is responsible for overseeing the inspection, maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of all company trucks and lorries to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted transportation operations.

This role focuses on preventive maintenance programs, coordinating vehicle repairs, managing breakdown resolutions, and ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and road safety requirements, particularly within food logistics operations. The Logistics Maintenance Executive plays a critical role in minimizing vehicle downtime, optimizing fleet performance, and ensuring all vehicles remain in excellent working condition and operationally ready at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Truck Inspection & Preventive Maintenance
• •Conduct daily, weekly, and periodic inspections on all company trucks.
• •Check and maintain engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, gearbox oil, and other vehicle fluids.
• •Inspect tire condition, including wear, pressure, alignment, and replacement requirements.
• •Perform scheduled maintenance such as engine oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• •Inspect brake systems, suspension, steering, and drivetrain components.
• •Ensure all trucks are roadworthy, safe, and fit for operation before use.
• •Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in trucks.
• •Repair engines, transmission systems, brakes, and suspension components.
• •Replace or repair faulty parts such as hoses, belts, pumps, bearings, and filters.
• •Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including wiring, lights, batteries, and starters.
• •Perform minor body repairs when necessary.
• •Respond promptly to vehicle breakdowns and repair requirements.
• 3. Refrigeration System Maintenance (Where Applicable)
• •Inspect and maintain refrigerated truck (cold chain) systems.
• •Ensure refrigeration systems are functioning properly to maintain food quality and safety.
• •Report, troubleshoot, or repair cooling system issues, and coordinate with external vendors when required.
  
• 4. Scheduled Maintenance
• •Follow the established maintenance schedule for all vehicles.
• •Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
• •Identify recurring issues and recommend corrective or preventive improvements.
• •Ensure servicing is completed on time to minimize operational disruptions.
• 5. Compliance & Road Safety
• •Ensure all trucks comply with JPJ regulations and safety standards.
• •Prepare vehicles for PUSPAKOM inspections and ensure all requirements are met.
• •Ensure trucks pass PUSPAKOM inspections without delays.
• •Maintain cleanliness and safety standards required for food transportation.
• •Immediately report any defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety.
• 6. Emergency Response & Breakdown Support
• •Attend to truck breakdowns promptly at roadside locations or work sites.
• •Carry out emergency repairs to minimize delivery disruptions.
• •Arrange towing services or workshop support when necessary.
• •Provide technical assessments and recommendations for damaged vehicles.
• 7. Spare Parts & Workshop Support
• •Identify spare parts requirements and report them to the supervisor.
• •Use tools, equipment, and components properly and responsibly.
• •Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop area.
• •Support spare parts inventory control and maintenance materials management.
• 8. Safety & Hygiene
• •Comply with all workplace safety procedures and PPE requirements.
• •Operate tools, equipment, and machinery safely.
• •Adhere to HACCP and GMP standards for food transportation operations.
• •Ensure trucks are clean, hygienic, and suitable for food delivery at all times.
• Perform any other ad hoc duties, assignments, or responsibilities as assigned by the Superior and Management from time to time.
