Job summary

EHH Food Industry Sdn. Bhd. in Malaysia is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to plan, execute, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance across production lines, ensuring safe, efficient operation and minimal downtime.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and process issues, support installation and upgrades, monitor performance, document maintenance activities, and uphold GMP, HACCP, ISO standards while collaborating with production teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1–3 years' relevant experience for Junior, or 5+ years for Senior.
• Knowledge of production machinery, utilities, and preventive maintenance.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000 is a plus.

Job description

Plan, execute, and monitor preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize machine breakdowns and production downtime.

Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues on production machinery and equipment.

Ensure all machinery and equipment operate safely, efficiently, and at optimal performance.

Support the installation, commissioning, modification, and upgrading of production machinery and equipment.

Provide technical support to the production team and respond promptly to machine breakdowns.

Monitor machine performance and recommend improvements to enhance reliability, efficiency, and productivity.

Ensure maintenance tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and readily available.

Identify opportunities to improve machine performance, maintenance processes, and operational efficiency.

Support Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives to reduce downtime, maintenance costs, and improve productivity.

Participate in engineering projects related to process improvement, automation, and equipment optimization.

Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate maintenance records, machine history, and engineering documentation.

Prepare maintenance reports, breakdown analyses, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.

Monitor spare parts inventory and coordinate replenishment when necessary.

Ensure all maintenance activities are properly documented in accordance with company procedures.

Safety, Quality & Compliance

Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000, food safety requirements, and company policies.

Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate PPE during maintenance activities.

Maintain good housekeeping standards in engineering and production areas.

Report unsafe conditions, equipment abnormalities, and potential hazards to the Superior immediately.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Junior Mechanical Engineer: 1-3 years of relevant experience. Fresh graduates with strong technical knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Senior Mechanical Engineer: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the food manufacturing industry.

Knowledge of production machinery, utilities (boiler, air compressor, chiller), and preventive maintenance practices.

Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000, or FSSC 22000 will be an added advantage.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and perform well under pressure.

Willing to work in a factory environment and provide support during machine breakdowns when required.

Language Skills: Malay, English, and Mandarin.
