Job summary

Jora Malaysia is seeking an Assistant Manager, Quantity Surveyor (Construction) to oversee cost control across Penang projects. You will prepare estimates, manage tenders, contracts, procurement, and final accounts, coordinating with project, design, and site teams to keep costs within budget and on schedule.

The ideal candidate holds a Diploma or Bachelor's in Quantity Surveying with at least 5 years' experience in construction or interior fit-out.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying within construction or interior fit-out.
• Good knowledge of construction contracts, costing, tendering, and contract administration.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and quantity surveying software.
• Able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willing to travel between project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender documents.
• Review tender submissions, quotations, and cost comparisons.
• Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for cost-effective solutions.

• Collaborate with project, design, and procurement teams to control costs.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and requirements.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies.
• Prepare cost reports and provide management with updates.
• Support junior QS team members when needed.

ASSISTANT MANAGER, QUANTITY SURVEYOR (CONSTRUCTION) (PENANG)

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager, Quantity Surveyor (QS) to support the successful delivery of our construction and fit-out projects.
